Q:What is the blade made of? Looking for brass.

Answer This Question

A:  I believe it’s stainless steel, certainly not brass

by|Jul 14, 2019

A:  The blade is thick STEEL. Look elsewhere.

by|Dec 18, 2019

A:  When I used it, it felt like steel, not brass.

    by|Jul 15, 2019

A:  Sorry but the labeling on the tool doesn't say what material the blade is made of , nor does the Home Depot website. But I believe it's some type of steel, not brass.

      by|Jul 14, 2019

      A:  Thick steel

Q:Can I use it to remove old windows film?

        Answer This Question

A:  I would be concerned with the tool scraping the window glass. The HDX Glass Scraper tool will be more effective

        by|Jul 17, 2017

A:  No, you need a fine, sharp blade for that. This one is too thick and rough.

          by|Jun 9, 2019

A:  This is a thick, Heavy Duty tool, and the blade is not so sharp.

          by|Dec 18, 2019

A:  I would use a sharp razor if removing film from glass. This is not sharp enough

            by|Jun 24, 2019

A:  Since the scrapper is very sharp, I don't see why not. Just be careful not to scratch the glass.

Q:is this the right tool to scrape paint off outdoor wooden windows and door frames
            by|Jul 11, 2015

            Answer This Question

A:  Depends how much you do. It will work for small jobs. For big jobs, consider a dedicated paint scraper.

            by|Jun 9, 2019

A:  You can use it for that purpose but it might take quite a long time. The tool is actually for removing old caulk between glass panes and wood. You don't want to re-paint over dried out caulk.

            by|Jun 29, 2016

A:  Yes, this will do that

            by|Jun 24, 2019

A:  It should work well for that purpose.

            by|Jun 7, 2019

            A:  Yes because it’s sharp

This tool from Husky is a standard six in one painter’s tool. I typically use them to remove old caulk from sinks, tubs, windows, etc. This product features a lifetime warranty (excluding the blade). While the scrapper blade areas are sharpened I found them to have edges on the blunt side instead of a very sharp scrapping surface which I prefer. This can be resolved with some manual sharpening. Overall the tool is constructed well and should be durable.

I've always wanted to get this type of tool for my tool box. Choosing this one from Husky definitely fits the role. The tool comes in a polished steel that means years of use (and abuse!) and a soft rubber handle. It has a very sharp scraper and a paint roller cleaning tool. The handle has a steel hub for tapping in those last minute nails sticking up. The lineup finishes up with a paint can opener, corner/crack cleaner and spreader. Very useful.

Every handy person needs this kind of tool. This Husky is a good value and worthy of your toolbox. It is not just for painters. So it is called a 6 in 1 tool. Let's see what it can do: - Scraper: very sharp edge, check. - Paint can opener: the blunt small end works for that, check. - Pointer: the pointed end can scrape out cracks, check. - Putty/Repair spreader: from the scraper, check. - Nail setter: the handle end has a blunt metal section to tap in nails in light duty work, check. - Paint roller cleaner: run the curve along your loaded roll and get most of the paint off, check. It does all of these very well. For drywall seams, use a dedicated drywall knife, not this tool. This tool helps in a jam or if you spread compound for small fixes like a nail hole. Also, I'd like a bit more metal heft on the handle end to tap nails. Of course, this is not a hammer, but it does well to deal with picture hanging nails after you've painted and you have this in your tool belt, but forgot your hammer. The paint roller cleaner is crucial. You can buy a tool just for that, but why? This one does that fine and much more. Finally, the handle is not flat and has a rubber surface with a gentle curve. Nice. The handle can get wet, which is good when you use it to clean your rollers. Made in China

Great quality painter's tool with a lifetime warranty. It can scrape, open cans, crate divets in drywall and help pull nails. The scraper and overall tool are a great thickness. I even use it to help pull trim off. The end of the handle is metal, so you can strike it with a hammer for extra force. Overall, this is a basic and common tool but Husky made a good quality one.

6-IN-1 Painter's Tool. Nice looking tool, nice weight and balance. Rubberized handle to make it easy on your hands. Comes with a Lifetime Warranty. Has a hole in the handle to hang it on a pegboard for storage and for tying the tool to your wrist so you don't drop it to the ground when using it on a ladder. I knocked it down slightly because there were no instructions included either with the tool or on the website. Not important for scraping or opening paint cans but the site says it can be used for pulling nails and setting drywall nails and I'm not sure how you use it for that purpose.
