Q:Will these cut 8, 10, and/or 16 penny steel nails?

Answer This Question
A: Because of the location of the pivot joint and the length of the handles, they are too cumbersome to use with one hand.
To grab a nail to cut, the handles must be opened very wide which isn't easily done with one hand.
This is the most difficult to use end nipper I've used in over 30 years.

A: I do not feel these would be the best choice to cut nails of that diameter. You would have to apply great force. An oscillating tool would work better.

A: This tool can do both, pull and cut nails. I have used it several times already with nails from my nail gun where I made a mistake. Just grip the nail where it meets the wood and roll the handles in a downward motion. Def worth the money.

A: Bought and used as pullers. Very small brads from a finish nailer will often cut but all else can be pulled or pulled thru (old trim being restored).

good but what happened to the ones with claw on the back?
I bought a pair of the 7” husky end nippers with a hammer claw on the back, and by far they are the best i have ever used once i made a modification to them and made them spring loaded, reason why first off the grind on the top is flush not many end nippers usually are, secondly when i am doing subfloor prep there are a ton of staples to be pulled, and the nippers with the claw made it so it was single tool removal with the claw because you could dig out tough stables where without the claw you would have to use a chisel or small pry bar to pop the staple up enough then pull it out with the nippers. And finally the reason why i modified them and made them spring loaded was pulling 1000 staples and having to constantly open the jaws every time not only takes more time but will kill your hand by the time you are done, with the spring i added they pop open and im just pulling staples with ease left and right.... but my point is i came back to buy a back up pair of them and gone cant even find them online.... what gives???

it works for the way it was designed but the design is wrong. I thought it would nip off finish nails flush to the surface but the way it is designed it leaves a good 16th still protruding, the blade needs to be on the outside of the tip not the inside, now all I have is a spendy pair of wire cutters.

I also use these as a nail puller
I also use these as a nail puller. I like how well the fit in my pocket. Well, I did. I saw in store that this model was discontinued. Husky updated it with a "claw" nail puller on the one side. NOT A GOOD MOVE. Now the tool is big and bulky. A claw is not useful for precision nail pulling. Bring back this style, PLEASE? I bought a pair of Channellock brand. I already know they don't work as well for nail puulling, but I do not like the "updated" model of this plier at all.

Poor design. I have used end nippers for decades. The length of the handles and the placement of the pivot joint make single hand use VERY difficult, as the handles must be opened too wide for most tasks.
This makes it very cumbersome and time-consuming to use.
I will be returning these and playing a different brand.
