Questions & Answers

I want to paint my house will it do the job

Asked by: Vsve
This compressor is great for airing up tires, balls, floats, pools, air blowing the driveway, etc. but I think you would constantly be waiting for the pressure to build back up if your "sprays" are too long. If you use short bursts, the pressure stays up longer, even while the motor kicks in but if you were to spray longer, the tank empties and the motor kicks and takes a while to get pressure back up. I think the 8 gallon tank might be too little for the job. If you can get a good short burst and sweeping motion to paint the house, it would probably do the trick with patience.

Whats the general life span?

Between this and a porter cable 6gal which would be better. I've heard the PC have about 3 years before theres issues
Asked by: Mg
I've owned this for about a year with no problems. I use it mostly for vehicle tires. I have an impact wrench and used this a few times with no issues. The main reason I chose this unit over the PC unit was portability. I like the handle and wheels. With a good extension cord, I can roll this ting out of the garage and get work done without carrying anything.

Will this be strong enough for a framing nail gun?

Example: I have looked at the manual and can't figure out what I did wrong.
Asked by: Troutman
Yes I have not used this with a nailer yet but the pressure, tank size and portability should work well for you.

I bought this because my 6 gallon compressor that I had, and used regularly for 12 yrs went out on me. I don't need anything large, and it was nearing the beginning of winter so I wanted to make sure I had a compressor for tires. I did not use it for 3 months (which took me out of the 90 day return window). After using this only 4-5 times, the motor went out. Customer service's attitude at the store was a "too bad" reaction. Almost as if they had seen this more than once with these compressors. Because HD won't accept the return, and after telling me they needed $20 to send it off to repair I decided I would just eat this one, and go get a more reliable brand. I'll keep shopping at Home Depot for lumber, etc, but I refuse to buy anything that says "Husky" on it. I would have put no stars because this was worse than poor (and I couldn't submit the review w/out one).

Used this compressor 3 times and then it would kit the circuit breaker off. Took it to Home Depot to have it fixed. Got it back, then it would not shut off when it reached the pressure where it was to shut off. Alton Industry send me a new pressure switch. That fixed that problem, but then the motor would not stop when the compressor stopped. Alton Industry then send me a new motor/compressor. Put it on, now have the problem of not shutting off when it reaches the pressure where is to shut off. Can not return it because it is past the 90 return policy of Home Depot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Runs my nail guns It does what it is advertised to do, which is to provide compressed air. My nail gun requires at least 90 psi, so I have the delivery gauge set to 100 psi. The 8 gal air tank provides enough buffer to run pneumatic equipment continuously, but I wouldn't recommend it for heavy duty use all day long. As mentioned by another reviewer, the oil level sight glass is difficult to see, but fortunately, it doesn't seem to use oil, so it's not like you have to keep topping it off. I discovered that it will not start if it's not level, however. I carried it in the back of my car to a friend's house to air up her tires, thinking that I could just open the hatchback and plug it into an extension cord. Because it was sitting at an angle (handle end slightly down), it would not start. I had to lift it out and put it on the ground, then wait a few minutes for the oil to flow back to its proper level before it would run.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good for a home use Very easy to use , don't use a lot of space. I used it with a framing nail gun wish I rented from home depot for 29.00 dollars a day . I was going to rent a compressor but for some reason they don't come with a hose.It work perfectly with the nail gun I actually saved about 600.00 by doing the work my wife and I .we changed about 10 sheets of siding on our house . Even if it breaks after a year it will save me a lot of renting it over and over .
