This replaced a basic set of metwrinched ( combo metric and standard) I had for 20 years. Paid $39.99 and replacement is $249 when some thiefran off with my truck... anyway this set is a close copy with 1/4” and 3/8” drives in standard and metric. The nit drives come in handy. There is one short extension for the 3/8”, but if you do any work at all you may need a wobble joint or a longer extension as well. The 1/4” drive is plain and non-ratcheting, which nay not be much of a problem. Some 1/4” tips and allen keys in meyric and standard as well round out the assortment. No wrenches. All in a tough plastic box which should last another 20 years. Seems like a fair deal for the price paid and should kast a long while. If you can get a socket on a nut with clearance for the drive this set will get most jobs done!

My review today is for the Husky 99 piece Mechanics Tool Set.
This set is nicely designed for the Mechanic that needs a great ratchet and socket setup. It has 52 different sized sockets, ranging from Metric to Standard, or SAE, if you want to be specific. The screwdriver is a nice addition since I always need another one and never seem to have the right bit. The screwdriver comes with 10 bits as well as Standard and Metric allen keys.
The ratchets are quality. Great feel and weight. They move forward and reverse and also lock. I just used the small ratchet to take the bolts off an old toilet and the compact size did the job nicely!
The case is solid. Great hinges! Form pressed from high density plastic. The grooves that hold the pieces are intelligently designed to be snug and the repeated removal and insertion of the pieces don't seem to wear out the case.
Over all, this is a great set for the mechanic that needs ratchets and sockets. Not so much a generalized "Tool Kit" but more of a socket set.

As another reviewer mentioned, the title of "tool set" is misleading as this is really mostly a socket set. Decent quality. Nothing that a professional would consider top-notch but the machining, fit and finish of the these is as good as many of the more expensive sets. The ratchets operate smoothly without binding or roughness and both the 3/8 and 1/4 drive handles are lockable.
Comes with all of the standard metric and SAE sizes so this should definitely get you up and working if you are just starting off building your tool set.
All-in-all a good value for the asking price. Wish they would have had something like this when I was just starting out (30 years ago) as I spent WAY more $$ and got fewer pieces overall.
