Questions & Answers

Are the pulses one at a time when the trigger is pulled or does it cycle?

Asked by: Trumpet
There is not a trigger "per se". It automatically starts hammering the nail when the nail head is pushed on. It has a cylindrical "guide " that the nail head sits inside. You hold the nail in place and touch it and away it goes.

Does this work for baseboards?

Ive been told I need an air nail gun to do baseboards for the trimming around my hardwood floors = is this just as good and won't damage the base board?
Asked by: Kat
You don't need a nail gun for baseboards, but it might make the job easier if you don't have much experience doing trim. You can use a countersink tool or a very steady, light swing with a lightweight hammer. At this low price, though, I would say try the gun. It sounds contrary to the simplicity of the tool, but it takes time and practice to learn how to wield hammers in critical applications which, if you don't want to damage your wood, this project is. Just be extra wary of those who advise getting new or different tools for jobs that were done for centuries with simple saws, hammers, etc. * trained by an old school professional carpenter 45 years ago

Can it be used for 1 1/4" cone headed finish nails? I'm putting up a tin ceiling.

Asked by: Hassayampa
In addition to possibly damaging the tin material, the intended use for this tool is Framing nails. It is not ideal for your intended use, but would drive the nails. The small heads on the nails could easily get the nails stuck in the drive mechanism periodically.

I wrote a scathing review yesterday about how the nailer kept leaking air with my first use of it. After reading another review about a different brand mini palm nailer having the same problem out of the box, but unlike me, he decided to actually try nailing with it. When he did, the nailer stop leaking air and worked fine. I did the same thing and the nailer worked fine. While I, have not finished using it on my project, I decided to retract my previous review ASAP. At this point I will give it four stars. I think the owner's manual might let the user know the initial air leak will stop when the tool is put to use.

We needed to get in a tight area to sister joists and this device worked perfectly. A nail gun was too big and a hammer was too unwieldly. Very little effort was required and it drove the nails in very quickly. This device saved me a lot of time and effort. I love the swivel air connector fitting! I had never used a palm nailer before, and was pleasantly surprised at how easy and intuitive it was to use. It met all of my expectations and then some. I recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Palm Nailer Great compact palm nailer! The Palm Nailer has a magnetic that holds the nail so it will not fall out when you trying to place it on the wood. I was surprise how fast the nail went in. No effort at all. I wish I had this when I was under the house and trying to drive a nails in in close quarters. This would make it a lot easier. The nailer came with the male air connection for the quick disconnect. A lot of other brands you have to buy that separately. It is well made and you will not go wrong in purchase one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great nailer This is a great palm nailer. It's easy to use and works well. Light weight so you won't tire if you need to do a lot of nailing with it. I only needed it for a few nails and was happy with it. I've had other husky tools though and they hold up well so I'm not concerned about this lasting or putting up with more use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from DIY Time-saver for small projects Got this nailer with intention of using it for small trim jobs. We recently did hardwood flooring in our Master Bedroom but the last step of installing the small quarter rounds at the baseboard was stalled due to our difficulty doing this with a regular hammer. Already have a compressor, so I thought we'd give this a try. Definitely a time saver, and no worries about damaging the finish of our new wood floor with an errant hammer swing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does exactly what it is advertise great tool for driving nails in hard to reach places. drives nails with ease and does not hurt the palm of your hand. Very easy to use and if anyone has ever been in an awkward situation trying to swing a hammer this is the tools to have. Should have one of these laying around for those times when you have hard to reach places or if you only have a handful of nails to use this would be the tool, easy to set up ready to go

I bought this nailer over a month ago from Home Depot and the first time I used it, 2-21-17, all it did was blow air mixed with oil, I lubricated it as directed before I connected it to my air line, from between the black top and the body. It held no air pressure and was utterly useless. I am bringing it back to Home Depot for refund.
