This means the tape is not stretched during the manufacturing process; thus, it is less porous with higher density. Less tape has to be used as in just a few wraps. PFTE = for use with steam, water, and other liquids (except fuel). However, the actual packaging does not say PFTE. The tape can also be used for air lines (compressor air hoses, air tools) to prevent leaks. If your compressor hisses at connections, use this so it will not keep turning on and off to pump up to pressure. You are using less tape for an effective seal. . I like it because I use less and I think it gives a better seal than regular Teflon tape. It is a good product and a step up from regular Teflon tape.
