The IHeat S-7 electric tankless water heater is the perfect product for point of use applications. The S-7 has been manufactured in to handle 2 hand sinks in the warmer climates. FL, GA, TX, LA and AZ. It's small enough to be installed underneath a kitchen sink, or bathroom vanity, and since it's electric you do not need to install costly exhaust pipes. The M series comes equipped with a digital display allowing you to choose a range of temperatures from 80 degree F to 140 degree F, (DOE recommends setting heaters at 120 degree F).

      Contradicting power requirements S7.
      S7 HD documentation calls for 10ga 30A breaker. Unit documentation. calls for 8ga wire 30A breaker. 8ga wire protected by a 30 amp breaker requires explanation.The NEC identifies a 30A breaker with 10ga wire. When asked about the discrepancy Iheat technical support told this retired electrical engineer he needs to hire an electrician. 10ga wire is existing in the bathroom, replacing with 8ga would require significant time and material costs. I will attempt to update after installation.

        Don't buy
        My heater malfunctioned and you can't get them to return calls or emails. Very rude and they expect you to pay for another one then they may refund your money once you return the old one. Buy from another manufacturer that will stand behind their products.

          Home depot specifications tab is misleading
          I bought the heater based on HD specs tab of 240 volts and 7000 watts which for mu case after my voltage drop, it was safe to use my existing 10 gauge wire . But this is not the case because the heater heats at 8000 plus watts (33 amps) at 240 volts and 31 amps at 220 volts. At 208 volts it heats at 6700 watts (29 amps). Also the manual says all is needed is a 30 amp breaker, but if the voltage is higher than 214 it goes above 30 amps. So the manual says to protect your wire with a 30 amp breaker when it pulls more than 30 amps? What is up with that?

            It really does work.
            I personally did not install the plumbing on this unit, but did wire it up. I am an electrician. The wiring was pretty easy, but I did have to run new larger gauge wire and install a larger circuit breaker in the electrical panel because this unit does draw more than 20 amps. The man that plumbed it said that it was pretty easy also. We had trouble at first because we turned the water on full and the water did not get hot. It is an old sink without a low flow head on it. Then we turned the water flow down so that it barely was running and it did not get hot. Then I turned it up slowly so that it had enough flow to turn the heater on and the water got steaming hot. This is much better than the 5 gallon tank water heater that we were using that the water smelled like rotten eggs. The water gets hottest on pretty low flow then when you turn the flow up slowly the water temperature gets a little less hot the more water that runs thru the heater. If that makes sense. We use it for a kitchen faucet to rinse dishes and it works just fine. The instructions tell you to put the thing as close to the faucet as you can but ours is 5 feet away and it just takes longer to get hot.
