Product Overview

  • Built to filter your water right from the source
  • 3 filtration stages remove 95% of contaminants
  • Carbon block filters are designed for maximum filtration
The WGB32B whole house filtration system is the ideal "point of entry" filtration system for cleaning up water supplies to a home or business on municipal (city) water. Unlike "point of use" systems (like reverse osmosis systems) that are installed to supply water to a specific faucet, the WGB32B filters your water from the source. This means water from every output in your home or business will have passed through the three filtration stages of the WGB32B. The stage 1 housing holds a 5-micron high-capacity polypropylene sediment filter. This filter removes dirt and other various larger sized particles from the water that can clog the following filters. The second and third stages of the WGB32B house 5-micron CTO coconut shell carbon block filters. Block carbon is more effective than other forms of carbon in that it is finely ground up carbon packed into a solidified block. This means they have a higher density than other types of carbon filters and are therefore more effective in removing their targeted contaminants. The carbon block filters knock out bad tastes and odors, combine to remove over 90% of chlorine from the water and are highly effective on organic chemicals (VOCs) like pesticides, herbicides and industrial chemicals. If you are on well water or have unusual contaminants in your municipal water supply, you may want to consider the WGB32BM or the WGB32B-PB.
  • Filters the incoming water supply for your entire home
  • Removes up to 95% of sediment, chlorine, rust, pesticides, herbicides, industrial solvents, VOCs and various other contaminants
  • Big blue 20 in. x 4.5 in. filter cartridges allow for minimal pressure reduction and extended filter life
  • High capacity polypropylene sediment filter achieves filtration down to 5 micron, tested by independent third-party to meet NSF/ANSI Standard
  • CTO carbon block filters use high quality coconut shell carbon for maximum filtration efficiency and filter life, tested by independent third-party to meet NSF/ANSI Standard
  • 1 in. input and output ports handle up to 15 Gal.
  • Two 12 in. long, 1 in. MNPT X 3/4 in. push-fit hoses are included to provide a hassle-free installation to any 3/4 in. pipe, including Copper, PEX, or CPVC pipes no welding or glue needed - just push in the pipe and it is locked in place a removal tool is also included if you need to disconnect the system from the pipes.
  • Package includes - black metal bracket, 3-big blue housings with caps, 3-filter cartridges, a 4.5 in. housing wrench, two 1 in. MNPT X 3/4 in. push-fit hoses, plumber’s tape and a removal tool

I have a well system with a bad sulfur smell in my water. The system I choose to go with is one of these two. What is the difference between the iSpring WGB32B-PB and iSpring WGB32BM? They both look identical to me.
Asked by: Matt
A sulphur odor is from bacteria, these filters will not remove coliforms, fecal or Ecoli bacterias. I have this set up in my house and it is awesome, but it's not for removing bacteria. If you have sulphur odor you should shock your well, with Chlorine, there are lots of instructionals online about this. We bypass the filter system when we shock, for a day or so, and then go back to the filters when the chlorine odor has mostly faded. The carbon filter then removes the remainder of the chlorine. If shocking is done properly, it will get rid of total coliform and there will be no more odor.

No salt required but filter intervals depend on whether you are in city or well water.

Best thing to do is install a water pressure gauge before and after the filters. When there is a 12-15 psi difference between the two gauges, it's time to change the filters.

Researched many cartridge filter systems and decided on this one. So far all good. Zero smell and zero taste. Piece of cake install. Mounting bracket is very strong. No flex. Had an issue with a defective cartridge and contacted iSpring customer service via email. I had given them my phone number in case they wanted to contact me that way. Nick called me and had me email pics of the damaged cartridge and told me to throw it away and he would ship me a new one, no charge. Can't beat that kind of customer service.

After 22 years of fighting and replacing plumbing issues throughout my home I have found the solution. Numerous calls were made to my sanitary engineer and the water supply company of my "city" water. Their efforts fruitless, this was the solution. Clogged washing machine filters, calcium build-up, clogged toilet flushers, refrigerator filter replacement, hot water heaters filled with this water borne sediment have been diminished. Made in USA too! I feel much better knowing my water is to be much healthier. Pictures attached are what I found 9 months after initial installation. I installed myself using SharkBite connections (another miracle).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not sure yet Had this installed April 21,2016 followed the directions after installation and 2 weeks after I cani smell the stink in the water again and it lowered my water pressure. Is this normal? I researched this product specifically for the water issues I have.

Florida has the second worse water in the nation which prompted us to make this purchase. We live in Sarasota. I chose this particular unit because it was rated to filter out more bad stuff than similar units. It also would fit nicely in the space I had available. Installation was a breeze (love those Shark Bite fittings!). My only complaints: 1. The unit did not come with a starter package of Silicone Lubricant. I had to make 3 stops to find the special lubricant. I ended up back at Home Depot. A clerk helped me track down the lubricant. One tiny tube cost $3.95!! what a rip off. Two hours later I was able to complete the installation. 2. The cannisters do not have a base fitting that rises high enough to ensure the filter is seated properly. 3. The rubber o-ring gaskets placed on both ends of the filters were loose and kept falling off when inserting the filter into the cannister. Using good 'ol spit to help the gasket stay in place seemed to work. We are only a couple of weeks into the usage of this product. The water does seem to be noticeably clearer. The taste of the water is also getting better. Time will tell.....

We started this journey with a smaller whole house single stage to the kitchen only. But repair to a lead pipe to our old house became the incentive for an upgrade. We continue to use the kitchen filter cartridge as a final "scrub" for our kitchen water. Was a bit of a bear to install, but I knew that going into it and because I'm squarely in the amateur plumber ranks. The water pressure drop is negligible across the system. Our water is from Chicago. Heavy smell and taste of chlorine year round. In the later summer it can get fishy (will have to wait for next year to see how it does on that). The water is noticeably much better tasting, smelling and behaves "almost" soft now. System has been in place for a little over a month now. Coffee tastes better with chlorine removed for certain. It is nice to have filtered water in the entire house including hot water for laundry, dishwasher and showering. I will probably run a by-pass for the garden hoses though.. No changes since installation; no leaks, pressure drops or reduction in water quality. This was a good choice for us and worth the expense. No salt to buy or worrying about regeneration as with a water softener. The final verdict will be on frequency and cost to replace filters and ease of doing that. Based on installation we don't anticipate any challenges.

Black water for a few minutes as iSpring said would happen. After it cleared, the water was excellent. My specific unit has one bad relief valve right out of the box so it leaks a lot of water on the floor. A mini-flood. Luckily, I plumbed a bypass into the system around the filters, so I can still use my water while I wait to see what iSpring will do under warranty. I really hope that it can be fixed with a new relief valve because I don't want to have to cut the copper lines and start over again. Final review is pending the response of iSpring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely great! Nice whole house system The system is well worth the price. My water is much clearer. I have read that the chlorine filtration of your shower and bath water may be even more important than the water you drink. I'm also getting a reverse osmosis system for the kitchen. So far I'm impressed with the quality of the system.
