Ice-O-Matic's GEMU090 is one of the most popular under counter ice machines available in the market. The Ice-O-Matic GEMU090 creates nugget ice (called Pearl Ice by Ice-O-Matic) and can be used as both a commercial or a residential ice machine. Its stainless steel finish provides a high-quality aesthetic that complements other restaurant equipment and many modern home appliances. The Ice-O-Matic GEMU090 can create up to 85° of Pearl Ice every 24 hours (at 70°F air and 50°F water), and its self-contained bin stores up to 22 lbs. of ice at a time. The Ice-O-Matic GEMU090 is a mere 14.88 in. wide and only 33.4 in. tall, allowing you to install the unit in nearly any location, including under most standard counters. The Ice-O-Matic GEMU090's quiet operation also makes this ice machine desirable, since it will not disrupt the ambiance of the room in which it resides. The Ice-O-Matic GEMU090 operates simply, with basic hookups at installation, requiring only a 115-Volt outlet, and a suitable water connection to create the Pearl Ice everyone loves. Note that the manufacturer recommends water filtration on the incoming water line for the best quality ice. The Ice-O-Matic GEMU090 also requires a drain for the water purged during ice production. An optional drain pump can be purchased and hooked up during installation for locations without a floor drain.

Don’t expect it to last more than 5 years!!!

We bought this ice machine when we built our new house. Yes, it will need a lot of maintenance. I was able to handle all of the repairs. 2 water seals and cleaning every 4-6 months. Unfortunately after five years, the evaporator failed. Looks like I was lucky it lasted that long. $1600 to have it fixed.

Loved ice, just wish it still worked

This was my favorite appliance in the house. Unfortunately, it has been wrought with issues. Even more frustrating has been the lack of customer service by the manufacturer. They are unwilling to help recommend residential repair in my area. I have had the machine less than four years and it has had Issues for 3 of the 4. It no longer even works. Shame on Ice-o-Matic for manufacturing a faulty appliance and not taking responsibility.

Would not recommend, after four years of use the Ice machine completely stop work. 2 year before it stop working the ice machine started making a loud squeaky noise even after proper cleaning. To have it repaired it cost over $2000. A WASTE OF MONEY.
