This is a bulk package of medium size wire-nut connectors (3 bags at 100 per bag). They are great to have on hand to deal with residential medium gauge wiring jobs or for wiring repairs around the house. I use them to fix appliances, light fixtures, or lamps. Making wiring connections that involves small to medium size wire gauge that are gauge 14 or smaller, seem to be best for these wire-nut connectors..

The Ideal 72 Blue WIRE-NUT Wire Connectors (100 per Bag, Standard Package is 3 Bags) are a great deal. Each of the three bags contains 100 smaller sized wire nuts, all in blue. I often get into projects that involve working with smaller sized wiring. Having these Ideal Blue Wire nuts on hand for such projects will save quite a bit of consternation. The individual packs are perforated for easy opening. The bags are zip lock so you can keep the wire nuts in the original bag if you prefer. I actually put all of the wire nuts into one of the bags. The nuts themselves are the highest quality, American made, and work well securing wires together as intended. They grip nicely and the nuts grab the wires and secure them quickly. It’s nice having this quantity of smaller wire nut available for when I need them. I’ll sleep tonight…

Very good product. The small size used with an appropriate gauge wire, reduces overcrowding in tight electrical boxes sometimes caused by using over-sized nuts. When used with doorbell wire or 14 ga stranded or solid copper wire, the connection was easy to make and to screw tight. The steel inner-spring held wires secure (see pictures). No pre-twisting was necessary. I like that the package is resealable, helping to keep these small fasteners from spilling out. I my opinion, this is a good value for a quality wire nut.

There is no bigger name in the electrical wire nut business than IDEAL who invented the first screw-on wire connector in 1928. They manufacturer and sell a whole line of wire nuts and these #73B small blue nuts have a range of a minimum of 2 - #22, 2 - #18 to a maximum of 3 - #16 wires. They come packaged in boxes and bags of 100 pieces. While I prefer to twist the stripped wires tightly together before twisting on the wire nut, these IDEAL wire nuts do not require that the wires be twisted together first. Simply strip back about 1/2”, hold the wires parallel to each other, and tightly screw on the wire nut. To complete the connection continue to screw on the nut until there are approximately 2 complete twists in the insulated wires below the wire nut. These IDEAL wires nuts are made of hard plastic with a ribbed body for easy and secure gripping. Made in USA.

Hey TC thanks for the great review. When I first got hired by IDEAL the question was how many people make wire-nuts? I'm thinking well a lot of people make wire-nuts and quickly found out only one company makes Wire_Nut® connectors it is our registered brand! Ron at ron.kipper@idealindustries.com

The right wire not is essential for a good electrical connection. It is easy to get these small wire nuts wrong. These wire nuts have been consistent in their manufacturing with no duds so far. Nothing more frustrating than trying to thread on a wire not that is not well made. Like all wire nuts, these can be over tightened breaking the connection. But the grab the wires quickly and are easy to twist.

Here is another product that is so simple it is so hard to write a review for it. The job of a wire nut is to help join and insulate 2 or more wires together. Each size and the color coding ( yes the different colors do have a real meaning) of each one tells you what size you have. The manufacturer has printed on the package the size range of the wire to be used and how many wires to join together! DO NOT EXCEED THE SIZE OR NUMBER OF WIRES to be joined together!!!!

They are simple and easy to use wire nuts. Plastic and used for small wire connectors. They look like there is a thread insert (spring) to hold the wires tightly. Really good product and I will try this brand when I run out of the current larger sizes that I have. The blue is dark and a preference would be a lighter color. Loos ones in the bottom of the tool bag are hard to see..

These are standard wire nuts. I didn't see any characteristic that would make me more likely to buy these over another brand in the future. But they work fine. The wire connectors attach securely and catch quickly. They come in a zip-lock style bag making it easy to keep them all together. The bag openings are a little small, but even my gorilla hands could reach in a pull out a few. I would suggest using a parachute bag rather than storing in the retail bag if you have to do several connections.
