Two fittings in the package. It is a complete unit as a 90 deg connector. It lets you move a cabinet or piece of furniture closer to the wall without bending the cable too much.

I don't know of consumer products to measure these, but I haven't looked. I had two 90 degree adapters (not this product, already installed in a home I purschased) in a location where I connected to a TiVo mini, and had problems with streaming. This was partially fixed by removing one of them, but it wasn't completely fixed until I removed both.
No, they don't fall apart with reasonable torque -- but my reasonable and your reasonable may not match. It does not matter how well made, excessive torque is going to cause damage. There is no reason to super tighten any electronic connection. Just tighten it up and add a little nudge anything more is asking for trouble. .
