Questions & Answers

How is this better than a cordless sawzall?

I mean, I already have a cordless drill and sawzall, but even if I didn't, the sawzall is 10 times as useful as a tool and almost 1/10th of the cost (20 volt Dewalt). When the guy mentioned a hack saw I just kind of laughed because if you're doing this kind of work, you're not using a hacksaw... So, is this worth taking up space in my van for $900+?
Asked by: GregWasHere
Hi GregWasHere I like the tag name! A sawzall is a very useful tool and could be used to cut large diameter cable but certainly not a first choice. It leaves a jagged edge, on bundled cables as it cuts through the cable it will "Bird Cage" the cable making it hard to install the connectors and just may not be safe around live conductors. The utility guys we talk to really like these and your right for $900 probably not something you will buy unless you do cut large diameter cables everyday. Have fun out there Ron at ron.kipper@idealindustries.com
