Our Home Depot sells stocks the 4 oz. container. Actually no cost advantage to buy the larger bottle

If you are reading this, you must be working on Aluminum electrical wiring. Unfortunately, I have aluminum wiring in my Arizona home. In the past, I bought this first in a tube (you always think I’m only going to do one small job). Later I bought the 4 ounce squeeze bottle, and now I have the larger 8 ounce squeeze bottle. Our local Home Depot only stocks the smaller size containers. As far as I can tell, the compound works satisfactory (no way to really confirm). I’m still of the old school, where I like to twist the wires prior to using the twist-on connector. I coat the wires before twisting, then use the squeeze bottle to insert the NOALOX tip into the connectors and fill the cavity with this grease before tightening. The one negative I had with the 4 ounce size was when I stored the container in my tool chest, the bottle laid on it’s side. We live in the Phoenix area, and the garage gets pretty hot. Anyway, the grease melted, and made a mess in the drawer. From now on, I store this in a taller drawer, where they can remain upright. The 4 oz. container is 6” tall, while the 8 oz. size is 7.5” tall.

Hi BigMike76 the use of any antioxidant in a standard twist-on wire connector, regardless of the brand or model, does not meet the UL standard or the requirements of the National Electric Code for aluminum-to-copper splicing. Only an approved connector rated specifically for aluminum-to-copper connections should be used for this type of application. The Purple 65 AL/CU Twister wire connector is the only UL Listed twist-on wire connector for this application. Please keep in mind these connectors are precision filled to avoid any air gaps and are not meant to be re-filled. The connector is a one-time use only connection. Refilling the AL/CU connector is not an anticipated, intended or approved use. The product is not warranted for such use and we ask that you discontinue such use immediately. Take care Ron at ron.kipper@idealindustries.com.

If you deal with aluminum wiring, this is an essential product to help reduce oxidation for Al to Al and Al to Cu connections. I have the dreaded aluminum wiring in my 1970s house, and the prior owner did not use proper wire nuts or anti-oxidant compound on the Al to Cu connections. I had to pigtail every single receptacle in my house, and several of the old wire nuts looked like they had been placed in a microwave--melted and charred because of the arcing. It has been a hassle to find the AL/CU wire nuts that include the anti-oxidant compound, and the AL/CU "purple" wire nuts are quite expensive and not available at most stores. When I have to change out a receptacle or switch, I have been replacing the wire nuts because they didn't have as much of anti-oxidant in them. I'm hoping to use this NOALOX to refill the wire nuts, and also coat the aluminum wires prior to using the wire nuts. The gray compound is very thick and sticky, so it doesn't drip or run. The 'glue bottle' packaging works well, making it easy to dispense and squeeze out the compound from the bottle tip. A single 8oz bottle of this NOALOX will last me forever, so it seems odd that this product is sold in a relatively expensive 2-pack.

I received my Ideal Noalox anti-oxidant joint compound today, I have been using this compound for quite a few years on alumium wiring. This is the only compound I will use to connect copper and alumium wiring. When using Noalox you should use emery cloth or a wire brush to work the compound into the wires, I personally like to use a small wire brush. I just completed a wiring repair in a attic and could not have done without my Noalox and the correct connectors to complete the job.

The thing I like most is that this stuff really works great. I used it when reworking all the electrical conections on a trailer that I have. With all the rain that we have had I have not experienced any of the lights going out. It is a bit messy. Does not take a lot to do the job. I will continue using this stuff . I have had the work done now for a month and worked very well. I highly recommend using this product.

I have been a builder remodeler for 48 years, and as such I have had many opportunities to use a product like this NOALOX ANTI-OXIDANT 8 OZ. SQUEEZE BOTTLE (STANDARD PACKAGE, 2 BOTTLES). I always prefer to use copper wire, however, there are times when joining aluminum wire to copper fittings is unavoidable for reasons of cost and so on. For this application this is a necessity, as otherwise the to different metals will oxidize and eventually might even result in a fire.

I recently had a problem with with circuit breaker for the house air conditioning kept recycling after a short while of being reset. The breaker was hotter than usual. And the unit technician did some troubleshooting up on the roof unit and found no faults or codes showing a malfunction of the unit. It turned out that the wire installed onto the breaker was the problem. The electrician, a friend of mine, removed it and cut the end of to start anew and used this product and that was the end of the breaker going off. It has worked since with no problems. I now have my own bottle for anytime I need to connect anything in the future. He highly recommends this Anti-oxidant.

A must use when using aluminum power wire. This will save the corrosion and keep the aluminum fresh and clean. Using noalox is a code requirement when using aluminum wires in any electrical application. The eight ounce squeeze bottle is easy to use and the spills are very to clean up. Your do not need to use a lot of this on your wires. A little bit will go a long way on your wire ends and connections.

(What's this)
I have been using this stuff for quite a while with great success on household electrical connections, but I never used it before on my golf cart battery terminals. Instead I have been using the little red spray coating that I need to put 15 coats on with dry-time in between... Then I saw this sitting in my garage and realized it's a much better option than spraying the batteries every 3 months. Right now I ma converting the golf cart to lithium and I am using this on the connectors. I haven't put the new lithium batteries in yet, but I should have no more issues with corrosion after this. Just a little embarrassed that it took me this long realize the bottle of Noalox would have helped me all these years with the golf cart battery issues...

(What's this)
This is a good quality anti-ox compound. Using anti-oxidizing compound is important when making terminations with aluminum conductors. Aluminum conductors have the possibility of corroding, or oxidizing, when in the right (or actually, the wrong) environment. If your conductors start to oxidize, the electrical contact is reduced, often to a point where the conductor starts to overheat at that location, causing problems, or even fires. Coating the ends of the conductors before you put them into a lug connector with a dab of this slightly greasy paste-like compound will prevent this from happening. It only takes a second to do, and a bottle like this will last nearly forever, even if you are a busy electrician. Best to put it on BEFORE your electrical inspector comes to check the job, or you may need a follow-up inspection. You can also use it in other locations with conduction/ corrosion problems, such as automotive battery terminals. Careful though, it is difficult to get off of your fingers and clothing.
