AnswersI believe so. It is on a back metal door of our home that also has a window on top. Our contractor cut the opening and it works fine. The cover has to be replaced at night in our house so little critters (racoons) won't get in. Our doggies are not real smart but they adjusted to it quickly.

I have have bought this brand of dog door for many years. I have always been happy with the function. The flexible flaps are the easiest for our dogs to use and I can easily order replacement flaps.

When I built my house 12 years ago I had the builder install this dog door in my house. It has held up great. My parents are buildng a new house and plan to install one as well. Glad to see the same product line is still available. It has been very easy to train the dogs to use. They love the freedom to go outside anytime they want

I have installed a few pet doors over the years. Some cheap and some expensive. This product is mid range and works well.
Few things that I do not like about it.
The flap sides do not have anything to prevent wind from blowing in. Its not a lot of wind though one can feel it in the colder months. Though this is not a huge problem. The pet door is installed in my sun room.
I installed it in to a brand new steel flush door using a jig saw and tracing it out.
My dogs are mid size and enjoy the much larger door. They can fly in and out of it with no problems.
The good of this product is the sliding door, Its much better than other doors I have had. It slides in and locks. It would be nice if it had some sort of hole in it so that one could hang it above the pet door. Otherwise it just sits off the side somewhere.
I intend to order more of these for other doors in the coming year.

We had a small dog door for our 2 little dogs which they loved; 1 is a terrier mix chihuahua and the other a mini chihuahua. Now our 2 big dogs, a labrador retriever mix & a husky just moved in from a house we sold so we needed to increase the dog door size dramatically (note the size of this product).
They’ve never used a dog door before and we were also worried the mini chihuahua may not be able to get thru due to the size/weight but she’s not had a problem at all, she weights 4 pounds and the flap is 3 times her size so it’s funny to watch her go in & out.
The flap is clear and so the big dogs caught on within an hour looking outside (or in) which is so much nicer than having to open & close our back door at their whim!
The price was very reasonable & the installation fairly simple (if we’d had a wood door it would have been easier) as well as the magnetic area that helps keep the flap closed as to not let the elements in and the large closure to shut it at night is easy to slide on & off.
We are so pleased with the product and would highly suggest it to anyone with big dogs and in our case big older dogs that don’t move as they once did (meaning squeezing thru a smaller door would have been difficult).

We have 3 labs ranging from 50-100 lbs and it's perfect for our 13 month old 100 lb gentle giant (aka chocolate lab), Magnum. We tried one that said it was good for a 100 lb dog and he struggled to get through it. It's perfect with room for him to grow!

This doggie door is great. We have it on an exterior metal door going from the mud room where pup hangs most of the time to backyard. Very easy to install. We have a black lab puppy and she is constantly going in and out to play in the backyard and do her business. If your able to gate your yard, having a quality doggie door is amazing and we had her potty trained after only 2 accidents! Turns out she just needed a way out and she would do her thing outside. Really enjoying this door. Great quality and no bugs are getting in. We shall see during the winter months if it let’s all the cold in but I doubt it. I got the size xl and I think it will do her well for a lifetime. We had to put it a little lower as she’s a puppy but not too low so she should be able to do it as an adult lab as well. I recommend using a contractor if you aren’t sure how to install. Note: toddlers can fit through this so make sure they aren’t able to get out!

I installed this door on a wooden screen door that i put on my screened back porch. Had to fill in space on sides of door panels to make it fit but it was easy to install. Doesn't always close completely but may be because I have a small dog and she doesn't open the flap very much so it doesn't have much momentum when closing.
