My dog loves it.
Easy to install. This is the second sliding door pet door I have bought and it does exactly what I want it to. My only problem with it and my old one, also purchased at Home Depot, is that if your slider is not EXACTLY square, you end up with cracks between the two doors. I just wish they would design one that is easier to weatherproof.

The "lock" function does not work - at all. It will keep nothing out
I purchased this product with the hope that the electronic door function would serve to keep unwanted animals out; before installing it, I tested the lock function which consisted of a small plastic arm that did not function. The slightest touch would override the "lock function." Save your money. Further, while Home Depot easily accepted the return the online support system was not helpful.

Excellent access for cats
This pet patio door for cats is an excellent buy. You can install it within 15 minutes and cats can use it immediately. The flap can be controlled in three ways: open for entry and exit, closed to both entry and exit, and open for exit and closed for entry except for cats with a magnetic collar.
The last is the great feature. The door includes a small magnet that has its own collar or it can be attached to the cat's collar. The flap can be set to keep all cats out except the ones wearing the magnet in their collar.
I questioned whether the magnet would work, but it does and does it well. I have any number of stray cats that have sneaked into my house seeking food by coming through a flap door. It was difficult to keep them out and still give my cat freedom to come and go. This door solves that problem.
Insulating strips are included, but you will probably want to give it some added insulation.

Easy to install
My husband and I (86 and 76 years old)are not mechanically inclined and we were able to easily install this pet door and our dog loves it. We are still using it without the electronic entry device because we want her to get use to it. We had no trouble training her to use it once she realized it was a way out and back in. Now she just charges in and out. We did need to read the instructions a couple of times before we fully got some of the finer points but once we did we had no problem with installation and the door looks great too. Better markings on the two insulation tapes would have been more helpful. We got them mixed up initially. We think we got them straightened out.

Electronic Cat Door
This door is fabulous. It is made of good quality material and, when installed, is very expensive looking. It works fabulously. I used to have problems with other cats coming in during the night and eating my cat's food. I even had a racoon come in one night! It only took my cat one day to learn how to get in and out of the door. I cannot believe that I wasted so many years of sleepless nights letting my cat in and out all night. After checking every dealer who sells this door, it was obvious that Home Depot had the best price. I highly recommend this door.
