Q:Is the exterior plastic frame durable in excessive heat temps. I live in AZ and we have an average of 110 degrees 6 months out of the year. If its not durable what door is recommended for high temps? And are the plastic flaps serviceable (replaceable)?

This is my second dog door from Ideal Pet Products. First one worked beautifully for 26 years…I needed to change the placement so I purchased the second one and it works as great as the first one.

Well made, brilliantly designed
I recently installed this door and have to give a shout-out to the company that makes it. It's well made and the magnetic door works perfectly... my dog has no problem going through and it always seals up again. It comes with two flaps, inside and outside, but I took one out as I live in a mild climate. But the really great part is the installation method. The way you line up the inside and outside holes is ingenious.

It’s large enough, and it serves the purpose and I like that it has the double flaps but it’s plastic and I believe will be vulnerable to damage, especially the secure, locking door, which is plastic and subject to breakage. So that’s the part that I don’t like about it otherwise, it’s functional.
