The Ideal Spacers are perfect for supporting loose outlets and preventing faceplates from being broken. These spacers help eliminate the need to cut plate screws for GFCI decorator devices when they are installed on tile and marble and can also be used as shims. Tear-apart spacers caterpillar together to create desired shim depth.
- Adjusts length of receptacle or switches for proper fit of face plates
- Not intended to be used in lieu of standard means of support or when in conflict with governing electrical codes
- Slips over screw between device and electrical box
- Snaps on over #6, #8, #10 screws (screws not included)
- Do not use if finish is combustible (e.g. wood paneling) without proper barrier
- Tear off sections as needed – each section is 1/8 in.

AnswersIt's a multiple of eight per strip, so there are actually 200 spacers in each 25-pack. Besides, wouldn't you need an odd number for a 3-way switch? ;-)

There sure are times that these are needed. After drywall and some new and existing outlets needed to be wired I used some of these to flush the outlets out so that they would look nice and neat and be sturdy and secure. I have used these for quite a few years, and I really like them. Better then some that use some wood shim stock to flush the outlets. I always keep some on hand. When the outlets and switches are nice and flush the job looks better and more professional.

I purchased a cabin that had several outlets that were installed too deeply into the finished wall to apply switch and outlet covers. We were able to use these spacers to force them forward slightly - inexpensive and practical solution without having to tear out the outlets.

I used these to replace coiled wire used as spacer. These plastic spacers are a great fit. All you need to do is add as many squares needed to make up the gap between tile and box. You may need to use longer screws.

These spacers work great and we're easy to install behind outlets. they're easy to adjust the size because they fold together and snap into each other. they also have a nice feature that once they're to the right size it will stick to the screw and hold themselves in place. These really were a nice upgrade for doing a remodel and having to go past paneling that didn't have any support. I will continue buying these they work great.
