Not just another pretty face, our bi-fold closet doors are solid -3/4 in. MDF. In 1957, when our doors with our patented TruClose cam activated hinges and heavy duty hardware first hit the market it quickly became the top choice for Manhattan developers and architects alike. From Turner Construction when they built the Hofstra Dormitories to HRH Construction when they built the Trump Towers, developers continue to purchase our Impact Plus bi-fold and sliding doors.
  • Dimensions listed in the name of this bifold door are the finished openings, which includes the top and bottom track, the door and proper space between the door and tracks; the actual door panel is 76-3/4 in. for 80 in. tall openings

Q:Would the 72 x 96 inch bifold door you offer fit a closet that's 70.5 inches wide x 96 high? what modifications or additional hardware are needed?

    Q:The vertical measurement in the rough opening in my installation is 96" but the carpet and padding take up an inch at the bottom. I see that you don't recommend trimming but what about cutting an inch or so off the bottom so it will clear the carpet?

    Answer This Question

    A:  2020mh, I wouldn't cut the width since its a finished edge and not necessary since its a slider but you can cut the height and would be cheaper option than a custom door. Just make sure whomever does it is skilled and has the right tools. You will need to remove, cut, replace the hardware on the top edges. You will also need to cut down the track any good hacksaw or a metal blade on a power saw will do the job. Thank you

      Q:What is the actual width of each panel? I am looking to cut these doors down to 13" each for a 26" wide opening. Are they solid all the way thru so I can cut the width down and then reattach the hardware as needed

          Closet went together as well as I had hoped. I’m really glad that I prepared the opening of 90” width down to almost the exact inch because it’s a perfect fit. My doors (80” high by 90” wide) was a big gap so installing the doors by myself was seriously very heavy, but I did it! Very pleased with my two new closets.

          I Hate Bifold Doors - Not these.
          I ordered these from HD. They arrived when promised. My space is small so bifolds were pretty much the way to go. I looked all over for something other than standard cheap poorly built bifold doors. I found these and ordered four doors and i couldnt be happier. They are thin but weigh a ton. The hardware is very heavy duty. They open and close easily. One had to be trimmed a bit and it went very smothly. They are a bit pricey, but worth the money. My carpenters were impressed. A couple things. Stand them on a soft surface like a rug or carpet, as they chip easily. Rub a little white grease or rub in wd40 sprayed on a cloth. They squeak. Did I say they are heavy? Two of my guys installed them.

            Not happy with these doors
            These doors were finally installed a few weeks ago, and not happy with how they hang. Note bowing in middle of the doors. Look at the top and bottom reveal and you'll see what I mean. This happened on 4 door sets, not just one. I would not recommend.

              I bought these doors to use as a sound barrier to my hallway to block the sound when I play movie...
              I bought these doors to use as a sound barrier to my hallway to block the sound when I play movies loud on my Dolby Atmos home theater system. They worked well for that and I can watch movies without disturbing my roommate. They look nice also.

              This flush bi-fold door met expectations and was the best available solution for the laundry room in our church apartment. It is well-made and well-packaged. It arrived without any damage. It was a bit tricky to install and we had to re-size the height of the opening so it would fit. It has been in place now for about 6 months. We substituted knobs like our kitchen cabinet knobs to give it a nicer appearance.
