Just what we needed
Our old Badger 500 lasted at least 10 years but recently started making noise. Bought this newer replacement model which is a little shorter. This helped make the installation easier and also provided more space underneath.

4.5 yrs one got replaced at no cost - warranty
We purchased a new 900 plus model in 2018 and it broke down a few weeks ago. Since it was still under warranty, it just took a couple of phone calls and a couple of weeks to get replaced at no cost. Customer service and technician were outstanding.

Works like a champ. Switch off the electric at the breaker box. The neck connector is the same as the one on the Badger 500 that I replaced. I needed the wire clamp from the previous disposal because the Badger 900 did not come with one. Three wires to connect and proceeded to install. Blocked under the unit, pried it up and screwed the connector on with the tightening tool making sure to align the drain connection to the pipe from the other sink. Hints: Knock out the dishwasher plug and connect the dishwasher hose before positioning the disposer for install. Also get the serial number before you install the disposer so you can register it.

Good, easy to install but with an caveat
I was shopping for a new garbage disposal and this one had great reviews so I gave it a shot. It was an easy install since my old one was the same brand. So after a day, I noticed my dishwasher wasn’t draining anymore. I thought it was weird, but since it is an old dishwasher, I did all the troubleshooting on the dishwasher and found no issues.
I thought it was very coincidental that dishwasher had issues around the same time I installed the new garbage disposal. So I went back to check it out and to my surprise, the hole for the dishwasher drain hose was plugged, as you can see in the picture. Nowhere in the instructions says that hole is plugged. To avoid having to return the thing, I just drilled the hole myself and now it is working as intended. I guess there must have been a quality control issue. Just make sure that whole isn’t plugged before installing to save the aggravation. Other than that, great product!

Requires Halex 3/8 in. Cable Clamp
If you're buying the Badger 900 3/4 HP Continuous Feed disposal without the power cord, be sure to pick up a 5-pack of Halex 3/8 in. Twin-Screw Cable Clamp Connectors while you're at the store. The disposal requires one but does not say so on this product page or on the box. It was an annoying trip back to the store for $1.87 bag of clamps. Not sure why they can't just include one with the product.
Other than that caveat, I think that the Badger 900 3/4 HP Continuous Feed disposal is a good product. The installation instructions are clear and the Home Depot has an excellent walkthrough on YouTube which basically sold me on the disposal to start with. Installation followed the YouTube walkthrough exactly, except for the Cable Clamp issue and the fact that my p-trap disintegrated when I took the old disposal off.
The Badger 900 is a fraction quieter than the Insinkerator that I replaced. The previous Insinkerator had been working fine since before we bought the house a decade ago, but just started leaking from the bottom and needed replacement. I'm anticipating a decent lifespan out of this one. If I hadn't had to run back to the store for the clamps and PVC, installation would've taken about an hour and a half and I'm probably a 3 out of 10 on the home-handyman competency scale. This was my first time doing an electrical + plumbing replacement and it was pretty easy overall.
