You KNOW, people, there's a unit of measure for Sound Pressure (i.e. "NOISE"); it's called DECIBELS. Usually common noise-making things (like dishwashers) are measure in the "A" frequency-weighted scale (called "dBA"), at one meter so you are comparing apples and apples.. InSinkErator shows the decibel level for their NON-EXCLUSIVE Evolution disposals (79 dBA IIRC, which is very good; perceived noise is cut in half for every drop of 3 dBA), but NOT for this Home Depot Exclusive. It SHOULD be a little lower (due to lower HP motor) but perhaps they saved money by eliminating sme sound insulation. Would be nice to know that. Perhaps the InSinkErator Lady could tell us why they think Home Depot Customers are too dim to comprehend Decibels.
I popped out the plug that attached the GD to the dishwasher. Is there a plug or covering that can be used to cover the hole because the dishwasher is not working.
Yes, I have the same problem of very bad water drainage, whether the disposal is running or not. This is the reason I've researched the questions and answers for this disposal. A week ago, I replaced an InSinkErator 444 (that lasted me 15 years) with the Evolution Select Plus. Running water ran through the 444 perfectly and it easily sucked down debris. Never a problem. Now with the Evolution Select Plus, I've got to use a utensil to push even little bits of food down the baffle, and need to do the same to get clear water to run out of my sink. We have to do this to avoid residue in the sink every time we use it. If I push open the baffle with a utensil, it drains thoroughly and quickly. Because water drained well up to the moment before replacing the 444, it seems that a clogged pipe wouldn't be the problem. What can be done to rectify this drainage problem?
We have a Waste King 9930 in use now, will the Evolution Select Plus match up with the sink flange currently in place?

probably, the question is if you will have grade enough to get to your trap.
Yes, I had the 444 model and just bought this select plus. Took me less than an hour to switch out. Everything was compatible. Maybe I could have pushed the existing drain line away from the unit about an eighth to a quarter of an inch, but I had enough play in my line to make it fit. There were some differences between the 444 and this: The flexible boot type of connection for the drain out of the disposal unit and the rubber scupper type thing that goes in the sink drain from the top rather than sandwiched between the sink and the disposal unit like it was on the 444. Maybe that will make it easier to clean and to get things out of the unit (spoons, etc).
Her is the number to call them direct or contact them by email. Dont bother calling Home Depot, they will tell you the same. 1-800-558-5700 www.insinkerator.com
Yes, if you know what you're doing. Or just call an electrician. But don't know why you would want to - it comes with the appropriate plug and most under sinks have outlet to accommodate plug.
The package includes the hardware required to install it into the sink, after removing any previous disposal mounting hardware. It might or might not fit onto the currnt hardware, but you should not need to buy anything else. The power cord for the current unit SHOULD be compatible.
