Not heating water
Where I can see serial number ? Where its write ?

Response from INSINKERATORMar 10, 2020
Hi Karin55, I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your hot water heater. The serial number is located on a silver sticker about the size of a Band-Aid, attached on the tank's power cord. If it's not heating the water, please check this link for some troubleshooting tips - https://bit.ly/3aN95Fj. I hope this helps!
Does Heating and dispensing with ease. BUT... Quick water connect failure.
Instant oatmeal and evening tea are daily occurrences in my family and the instant boiling water is awesome! This is the Third home that I have added one of these units. In the first two houses, the units worked without issue (6years and 3years respectively) and they were fine when we sold the homes. The current unit has been functional as expected for 4 years. Recently I notice a slowing at the spicket, and when I looked under the sink, water was everywhere. The Quick connect thing that makes install easy is also prone to failure on the water in line. I have had this same quick connect design on Moen kitchen faucets fail 3 times over the past 5 years. Though irritating from the water damage below the sink, at least Moen sends free replacements and easily swapped out. I do not know what this company will do with this simple, cheap plastic Part.

These hot water tanks work well for awhile and are easy to use/replace. However, they are not made to last long. My first one of about 10 years ago had a hot-water tube made of a material that deteriorated and leaked after about a year. I was able to replace the tube with silicone rather than replace the whole assembly. Then the thermostat wore out at about the 5-6 year mark. It's a simple mechanical design that just can't last long. Is a shame, a newer model for Europe released in 2017 has an electronic thermostat now; not for sale in USA and is 220v. Replaced that with one the manufacture had sent me for the first failure. Third one died after about 5 more years due to leaking around the bottom drain and the thermostat. This one caused additional damage as it was a subtle drip under the sink, destroying the wood at cabinet bottom, so have to fix that too. Took the tank apart to see about repairing it, looked impractical and unreliable. Just bit the cost and replaced again. At least it's an easy replacement. Really hoping we get a version in the USA with similar features to the new euro one (no bottom drain and looks like the heating element entry into the tank is at top).

      Very convenient!
I don’t know why we didn’t do this years ago! It’s a time saver, and more important, it saves water: When this house was built, the mechanicals room was sited on the opposide side of the house from the kitchen, so in order to get hot water, we had to turn the faucet on and let the water run until the hot finally came though. Now it’s right there all the time.

I've installed three instant hot tanks in 12yrs, in a heavy use family kitchen - pretty good. This is a great unit, installs as easy as it gets. However the dimensions listed are for the box not the product. The product not including the flange on top 11 1/4" H x 6 1/4" W x 7 3/8" D. This is very important when replacing with a similar unit. Also I was not able to find a cross reference to my previous unit I installed 5-6 years ago. The tank is two peaces, top & bottom, bolted together with at gasket between the flanges. It seems the cycles over time eventually break the seal and it begins to leak. The tank is vented to atmosphere so the top 1/4 of the tank leaks out and then it stops. Then every time you use the unit, it refills the top of the tank and it drains out again. Put a tray under the unit with a moisture sensor alarm to prevent water damage to the cabinet for when it eventually begins to leak.

Great product but just not hot enough
We are generally enjoying this product for its convenience and ease of use. However, my wife feels it is not hot enough and has to place hot water from this device into the microwave to get it hot enough for her. Talking to customer support revealed that one has to turn the control up to close to max to get it up to 200+degrees. So we tried that and that is where it is at now but not hot enough for her. I tried turning the control to maximum and it started spitting because it probably started boiling or on the verge. So I backed it off just a tiny bit and it is as I described previously. Our comparison was to an electric kettle that definitely delivers boiling water. We don't have a thermometer to measure the exact temperature but we have a Keurig that is set at 192F and she is satisfied with that. We are wondering if this unit is defective.

Hi NatsB, thank you for letting us know about your experience with your hot water dispenser. The adjustable thermostat for this model is 160°F to 210°F. If the water is not hot enough and you’ve tried adjusting the dial on your tank, you may want to try these other things that may help you fix the issue. Here’s the link: https://bit.ly/3omq9fb. Still love it
We redid our kitchen in a major overhaul in 2010. 11 years later our first insinkerator wore out - we used it a lot over the years. We missed it during the short time it took to order a replacement and still believe it is one of our now essential elements.

              Fourth heater
This product is nicely sized, easy to install and when it works it works great. I initially bought this product about 3 years ago and am now waiting on another replacement installation. The first heater leaked at the seams, replaced immediately by the company (who has fantastic customer service) and I had a plumber install the second one. This one stopped heating the water after a few months, had salemi appliance bring another new one and install that one. less than 3 months later this 3rd heater stopped heating water. No leaks just decided not to work. Salemi appliance had no record of the last install, but the Insinkerator company could tell I still had a full warranty on it. I am now waiting for Salemi appliance to bring another and install this 4th heather on 9/16.

Hi Sandy, thank you for letting us know about this, and we’re sorry about your unusual experience with our product. Just as is expected with conventional home water heaters, several reasons affect the longevity of the unit. Wear and tear remain to be a big factor when it comes to lifespan as the type of water may also affect performance. We can honestly say that the failure rate on the unit is very small and well below industry standards. In addition, we have an aggressive quality program and routinely get units back from the field for inspection. Again, we appreciate you for sharing your feedback with us, this will be passed on to our dispenser team. Should you still need assistance, feel free to reach back out.
Product Replacement Under Warranty was outstanding
This item was a replacement for a unit that had malfunctioned but was still under warranty. The customer service provided by Insinkerator personnel was outstanding. Immediately understood the issue, made arrangements with my usual plumber to handle install of new unit, sent a new unit to me, and I am now with hot water unit again. All handled very smoothly.
