Yes, the paint chips off both the flange and the cover.
painted metal
No I did not buy one.
Mine is also peeling. It's only been in for 10 months! Has anyone come up with a way to deal with it?
sorry my plumber completed the hook up. I had a brand new sink and a new garbage disposal black flange to match the sink color. As i recall the the black flange from the garbage disposal does pop right in. most likely a sealant was applied around the inside to ensure no leaks. sounds like you are installing into an existing sink. i would think the existing flange must be removed first.
Hi Steve! Chip on this part cannot be repaired, it may need to be replaced.
Mine peeled in the first month!
I’m not sure but I think it would be. I have it installed in a Kohler Brookfield cast iron sink.
It is painted metal and replaces a standard flange.
I would suggest a different one as mine chipped after only one month. I love the look but I'm very disappointed in craftsmanship. The whole sink would have to be tore apart (plumbing, disposal, and sink) to be able to take it back...not worth it.
