It is a "push on - push off" configuration.
Yes it will work but they only last around a year then they fail. When I bought mine I had seen other people say the same thing, I thought they must be hard on it. I used mine on occasion nearly a year to the day it quit working.
This product can not be installed anywhere, unless you have a switch that is missing the button.
Plastic materials
yes it does this switch works great My wife is glad we bought and it was installed in ten minutes.
Yes. You need to buy a Garbage Disposal Air Switch to go under the button. Think of a light switch. Now imagine that the part that sticks out of the wall (the part that you flip up and down) is sold separately from the parts that are in the wall. That's how this goes.
You need to buy the switch to get the rest of it.
I suppose if there is room for your plumber/contractor to access the area for the wiring, etc.
Yes, compatible with any 110/120 plug
You need to purchase the Insinkerator switch unit, which uses air pressure to activate a well-insulated relay which activates the disposal, and is therefore electrically isolated and much safer than a regular switch. The switch unit has two 3-pronged receptacles, and you just plug the garbage disposal into it. If your disposal does not have a plug, you could just splice a plug (waterproof) onto it. An electrician can do it for you. The switch unit is easily mounted on an inside wall of the sink base.
