Interbuild acacia solid hardwood countertops add a touch of warmth and drama to any kitchen. Acacia is tough, with a density comparable to Teak. Acacia countertops have random length and width slats that are finger-joined together in a unique rustic design. These surface features enhance appearance, providing a one-of-a-kind charm for every countertop panel. Acacia has very good wood-working properties and can be cut, shaped and drilled with standard wood-working tools. Under-mount sinks can be installed with acacia countertops since they are solid wood construction, and have no veneers or mdf cores. All Interbuild acacia countertops are FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) certified as a sustainable resource. Panels are oiled at the factory with a proprietary plant-based hardwax wood oil, 100% free of VOCs, and do not include any peanut-based products, making them uniquely approved for contact with foodstuff. These countertops can also be used for island and table tops in kitchens, restaurants, cafes and bars, as well as desk tops and even for outdoor applications! B/C grade: rustic tight knots on B side face; voids and other defects filled and sanded smooth on C face
Finger joined (FJ) slat construction, slats range in width 2 in. to 3 in. and in length 14 in. to 18 in.
Panel is not completely finished and, prior to installation, needs 2 additional coats, on all surfaces, of a clear natural wood oil, such as mineral oil or hardwax wood oil, to seal it against surface water damage and to prevent it from drying out due to changes in relative humidity

Q:I'm using this as a desktop. 1. Can I just give it a coat of polyurethane and use it? or do I need to apply more stain coats first? 2. Do I need to sand it before applying polyurethane?

A: it will work fine as a desk top. Sand it smooth and apply several coats of polyurethane to give it a good finish.

Great product and even better price

Bought two of these to make an L shaped desktop. Cut a 2 foot section off of one of the board and made it into a filing cabinet top. Cut perfectly. No chipping or anything. Wood looks great. Did a light sand on all sides before applying polyurethane (another light sand) then a couple of more coats (total of 3 on bottom and 4 or 5 on top). Very pleased with the results.

Beautiful countertop for a work/gaming station

I purchased the Golden Teak countertop a month ago to use for my WFH setup. Once the countertop arrived, I followed the instruction and laid it flat on two sawhorses for 48 hours, cleaned it off with a tack cloth, and sanded all surfaces lightly with 220grit sandpaper. I originally wanted to use a Varanthanes water-based finish but after extensive research, I decided to go with Osmo Polyx Hardwax. This stuff is incredible. It has the lowest VOC of any treatment, can be used safely in small spaces and dries quickly ( 2hrs to touch, 8hrs to 2nd coat, 16-24hrs to use, 72-96hrs full cure). It is excellent when finished because the surface is hard and smooth without being waxy or oily. The only downside is that it's a little expensive. The countertop was easy to work with once finished and I added a cable raceway underneath for extra cable management. It has been a month and the countertop is great and I'm expecting zero sag. Highly recommend!

Gives Beautiful Warmth To Our Home

Super easy to prep, cut, seal. I did light sand by hand, aloe Vera baby wiped, drenched both sides with mineral oil. After dry I made my cuts & used a butcher block oil to seal. Best thing Iv done to my house this far!!! I’ll add more photos soon.

Good quality, really nice counter and quality piece of 1” thick wood. Color is beautiful. After cutting it to size, we applied 3 coats of a satin sheen sealer. It looks gorgeous, even better than we hoped.

Despite some of the negative reviews, this came well packaged. Was shrink wrapped and in a box with extra cardboard on both sides and protection on the corners. Color was more consistent on one side than the other, but seemed intentional as that side was obviously the top. Ended up sealing it with polyurethane to use as a desktop. Very happy with the results.

So disappointed!

I was so excited to receive the butcherblock so I could make an 8ft x 2ft desk. Seemed like the perfect idea. Unfortunately this butcherblock was made with nails, all of which I could see. And that's weird because I didn't realize they even used nails in butcherblock. Plus the organic white stain I ordered based off the picture online was actually tan. No white or grey like the picture. Just shades of tan. Did they even stain it? Or just ship it out in all its defective glory. To summarize, nails showing throughout this defective "butcher block". And "organic white" isn't even close to white.
