Good for a picnic table made from Fir?

Yes, I think this would help preserve the fir as it seems to be doing for the many cedar applications that I've made. Just make sure you don't add any paint pigment to color it, which is an option offered by the manufacturer, because the pigment can wipe off when people sit at the table. Just use the straight stuff mixed with water.

How would this look applied to a deck that has an 10 year old section and a newer 1 year old sect...

How would this look applied to a deck that has an 10 year old section and a newer 1 year old section? The previous home owners added on to the deck. Will it all end up looking equally aged? I believe it's all PT pine.

To respond to comment about not using on a deck, directions say don't use the TINTED version on a deck, as the stain will migrate to what touches it.
