AnswersRelive all of the packaging, inside as well. Familiarize yourself with taking thre reservoir out and putting back in. The filter access is accessed by pulling the reservoir out and pulling the the filter down. Turn on after plugging it in, then push the red circle on [also the off button]. This machine will beep when the reservoir is full. Be careful when you pull thre reservoir out, do it slowly or you will have water everywhere!. Read instructions.... it helps..
Do you have to use hose or can water be collected in a built in container that I can empty?

AnswersYou do not have to use thehouse. The container can be used. Just don't forget about the 2nd filter that drops down. Make sure it stays up. Don't slam it up, jussssst push it up easy.

I am happy with this purchase. Came assembled and easy to understand the instructions for the most part. Was packed well. The good: 1.Works as expected 2.Reservoir fills in about 10hrs 3.Has a filter that is not paper/ metal 4.Auto shutoff w/alam sound when reservoir is full 5. Blinking light for when filter needs to be cleaned 6. Has a defroster 7. Definitely removes the humidity. We have had the humidity down to 28, for a month now 8. Most important is that the WIFE is happy and sleeps better.
The bad: 1. It is noisy, but can definitely live with it 2. The filter is accessed by pulling the reservoir out and pulling down 3. The second filter drops down and drips if the reservoir is shoved in to fast, and if left it will drip like a leaky faucet 4. It's made in China. *Some people who purchase this item are a little special.... They leave bad reviews smh... it stopped working after 2 yrs[warranty IS only good for 2yrs]. *It doesn't pull alot of water.- it has a pump in it(how are measuring the amount water pumped out? If you have that much water, you need a sump pump...* it's noisy- it's not that noisy, get over it. It's made in China For goodness sakes.

This thing isn't too bad.
It works pretty good, removes a ton of water from the air, and keeps our whole house drier. The key to avoid leaks is to make a clean cut on the drain line, then insert into the drain firmly. After that, mine never leaks.
To keep the pump working well, empty out the reservoir manually at least once every two weeks and put a couple splashes of bleach into the empty reservoir before replacing it. The pump will last longer if you do that. The biggest problem with these pump models is that they aren't kept clean. You must sanitize it and do a little preventive maintenance.
