I used it to water proof a outside shower door I made from treated lumber and plywood. Brushing a large area is way too hard. Foam or rubber squeegee makes is a quit job plus thinner coats. Use a brush to handle the drips on the edges. To measure I just lined up the bottles after pouring to match up the levels bottles of what was left in them. J-B makes a one part restorer that I think soaks in further like water. That would work better for rotted wood or waterproofing I think. I couldn't find it at the time I purchased this product.
