Yes. Until the next freeze where the failure to drain the hose bib would crack the fill area, once again. In order to prevent damage from a sudden leak, where vibrations might be present, it would be safer to have the damage bib replaced.

That should work just fine. Just ensure the void is clean, grease-free and dry.

Yes. I suggest adding a wood dowel 3/4" - 2" in co-located drilled recesses to add extra strength and rigiddity to repair.

Will this adhere to the gel-coat on my boat to patch a hole where my outboard mounts on the transom?

Asked by Dav November 20, 2020

No. Engine vibration will cause the fill area to fail. May I suggest a standard marine fill-patch consisting of shredded fiberglass or fiberglass pad material and marine epoxy. Finish-sanding and paint, after 24 hours of set-time, will result in a better and more permanent repair.

Probably not, it may be time for replacement handle or new recliner. Did you know that Home Depot sells recliners too.

Excellent product
Used this to repair a cracked concrete bird bath. Bird bath is 2 feet wide with a leaking crack running 2/3rds of the way across the base. Best way to describe the end result is it's essentially an epoxy weld. It's very easy to use and doesn't expand like other adhesives. It adheres to practically anything and hardens rock solid (although not a brittle solid). It dries a pale grey but is paintable if needed. Highly recommended for tough adhesion jobs.

Used this to connect my brake line brackets to my newly installed rear axle. I had already rebuilt the axle and didn’t want to risk getting something too hot by welding the brackets. It’s going to be plenty strong enough for my purpose.

I've been using J-B Weld for 50 years - it's my "goto" epoxy. The best feature for me is I can align the parts for best fit before it sets up. I've even used it to re-size one of my rings which became too large and I needed make it "tighter fitting" so I put a couple of thin layers inside the band. It seems I got smaller as my age increased. It's been on the ring for over two years.

Easy to mix and use. Right size tube quantity for small repair project. Temperature range was high enough for me to bond a frying pan handle back onto the pan. Reasonably priced.

My photos indicate a true heat test for J-B Weld. I probably could have cut and drilled the grill, but I wanted to be up and grilling the next night. I have always used J-B. Love it. Seldom has it ever failed me. I have yet to try the quickset, but I most likely will soon.

J-B Weld Rescues Bench Smashed by Runaway Tractor Tire
I love putting broken objects back together again. The scrapes and breaks reveal a part of its history and adds to its charm. Paradise Markets's park bench was smashed to smithereens by a runaway tractor tire that finally came to a stop directly below a sign that reads, "CUSTOMER PARKING ONLY." Thank goodness it happened on the only day of the week Paradise is closed, Monday. J-B Weld is the ONLY epoxy I trust to get the job done right the FIRST time. Cheers! Amber BLU APPLE DESIGN®
