Thank you for your question! For a shop measuring 40′ × 80′ with 20′ ceilings, the 13 in. Round 450-Watt Equivalent Integrated LED High Bay Light (5000K) is a great choice. Each fixture provides around 21,000 lumens, which works well for this ceiling height. For a single center row layout, we recommend spacing the fixtures about 20 to 24 feet apart along the 80′ length — approximately 4 to 5 fixtures total. This setup will deliver even, bright lighting across the floor, ideal for general work or shop applications. If you’d like more balanced lighting near the walls, consider using two rows (about 8 fixtures total) for improved uniformity.
Not knowing the desired foot candles or if there are rows of racks, I would suggest starting with 2 rows of 3, so 6. You can always add 2 if needed. The chords are about 1', but they are hardwired. A lot of people add a plug if they want to easily move it later.
240w are good for 25'. For the peak of 40', I would suggest hanging them on a chain so the bottom of the light is 30-35'. These are extremely bright lights and I wouldn't recommend them for less that 25'.
Order the J&H LED UFO 240-Watt Black Integrated LED High Bay. It will solve your problem.
No these need to be hard wired.
100W will be ok for 12'.
It can be installed in damp locations but no direct rain or water. There are some installed in a few different car washes without problems.
Doesn't say exterior grade on it. Also this is a high bay light, not a flood or spot
It really depends on what you are doing there and the amount of foot candles desired. For sure, don't go above 150w. That will be fine for 14' and the others will be too bright. I would start with either 6 or 8.... 2x3 or 2x4. You can always add more if it is not enough for what you need.
The set screws are not needed for that model driver. The eye bolt is pretty snug. The lanyard goes through the eye bolt and hangs around the rafter. It's a very strong wire. Some people prefer to use chains to have more length.
