32 in. x 80 in. 12 Lite Primed Steel Prehung Left-Hand Outswing Back Door

Home Depot is one of the few sources for good quality exterior, out-swing doors. Danny at the Mission Gorge / Fairmount store is the BEST and the front desk customer service team that backs him up, superb. With Danny's leadership in doors and windows, it was an easy process for this catalog in-stock item. JELD-WEN has been my source for windows and doors since 2006 when I remodeled my home. For when I help out friends and family, fantastic selection, lots of in stock items at the local HD stores, and fast delivery. I wish I could have experienced the same high quality product on this item. HOW SAD! No way I could recommend this item as manufactured. Other JeldWen products are awesome for retrofitting into opening for homes made in the 50s and 60s. The framing and rough opening by then were standardized. FIRST OFF, THIS DOOR IS A BEAUTIFUL DOOR. Just poorly engineered and manufactured. 1. Great wrapping and pallet bundle for deliver on the entire assembly. 2. Good quality steel and glass. 3. Good quality hinges, etc. 4. Bad quality on the bottom of the door. No weather strip. No sealant. No paint on the wood. Open steel edges. UNACCEPTABLE, LOOK AT THE PICTURE 5. Fitment of the assembly was about 90% square. I've installed dozens of doors and on this one, it was/is impossible to get it all squared up for whatever reason the frame wasn't quite set up for the door as far as the height. Factory defect. LOOK AT THE PICTURE 6. The overall height of the assembly was 1/2 taller than the industry standard for pre-hung so the rough opening had to be 'opened up'. REALLY BAD because the only way to get this to fit was by milling down / grinding the oak threshold. Destroying the header and stucco at the top WAS NOT AN OPTION. 7. The threshold is aluminum, so that's a big plus but it's not made to extend to the exterior the same way the in-swing doors are made. 8. The door stop on the bottom was bowed upward in the middle and is PLASTIC. No option is provided to anchor it to the bottom framing of the opening or to adjust it somehow. BAD. Installer has the option of modifying by anchoring with stainless steel screws but thus voids the 'warranty'. 9. THE DOOR DOESN'T CLOSE smoothly because of the interference with the aluminum threshold. AGAIN, THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT and because it's been raining for a month, I waited for a sunny day for the installation. With the old door removed, what is a homeowner supposed to do? 10. I will be visiting the HD and asking them for options and you can be sure I'll be contacting Jeld Wen. What's up? I had to go back to HD to browse the exterior door sweeps and gasket section to see what will work. Bottom of the door has no room for a true solution so an exterior rubber sweep will have to do. SAD. Hoping the top gasket doesn't allow water infiltration.

I had originally ordered the 36x80 but after ordering found out that the rough opening had to be 36”. So I built up the rough opening and ordered the 32”. The video instructional and online pdf instructions helped me to install this door perfectly

Worked as expected

I didn't install the door right away after purchasing it, but when I did get to it I noticed the door did not come with the screw cap covers. I contacted jeld-wen and asked if they could send out screw cap covers. Their response was they would not send out the covers and gave me a link to purchase them from their website. Terrible customer service, I will never buy anything from Jeld-wen again.
