Does this set already have a saw blade adapter on the end pole? I do not want a pruner, just a saw on the end.
Asked by: Tony
No, this is just the pole set. You have to purchase a saw that is mounted to an adapter.

Do I need a base pole in addition to this extension set?

Example: I have looked at the manual and can't figure out what I did wrong.
Asked by: Dan
I have never bought a base pole. Without one, you do need to be careful not to press the base into the ground and fill it with a plug of dirt.

I've seen a picture of the yellow Jameson poles that say FGA foam filled on the label.. i'm not sure if these are the same type?

I'm confused by the other questions listed on just what we get in this package.. someone mentioned the blade adapter will go on the 3ft length and the shortest we can use it with the base pole would be 9 feet. Does the PS-3FP saw head adapter attach to any of the poles or just the 3 foot pole? Not sure why they don't have a picture for us to see here.. the description makes it seem all we get are extension poles.
Asked by: avemaria
The saw head adapter will attach to any of the poles.

Flexy on full extension, but in combo with the razor sharp Jameson 16” blade and blade holder handled everything beyond my expectation.Awesome!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice, Sturdy manual pole saw . This set of poles is very sturdy and simple to assemble. It takes a little while to get used to the longer lengths and the saw teeth can get caught in the falling tree limb if You do not push-upward when the limb breaks free of tree ; ie., for the 1st 5 or 6 branches You cut , try to learn a little timing between when the sawed limb starts to detach from tree, and when to gently push upward , ie., to prevent falling limb from starting to stick to saw blade . All the cuts I have made since have been very easy and trouble free . I coupled this pole set with saw head PS-3FP and saw blade SB-16TE to get the capabilities I wanted . I will definitely get more extension poles to reach higher heights .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great set of light weight poles that work with other attachments Good quality made set of poles that not only connected to my prior telescoping extension tree saw but can be used for my window cleaner squeegee and high ceiling light bulb changer adapter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The poles arrived in good order and were put to... The poles arrived in good order and were put to use in helping to remove one 35' foot tree (too close and overhanging house; diseaesed and dying) and another large branch on another. Easy to aseemble and use. My advice is to use some electrical tape over the retainer for the latch. That will keep the sections from suprising you and pulling apart if you are using a lot of force while sawing or pulling branches down. I have used these before in a previous career - we called them the 'lazy lineman' because they can save a climb up the tree. Would be a five-star review except for the one section that un-coupled several times - (hence the recommendation for electrical tape over the retainer.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Usable But Somewhat Dissappointing Upon first looking at this set of poles, I was very impressed with the quality and design. However, that rapidly disappeared once I tried using them. I found that once 3 poles were attached to my base pole it became an unwieldy, way too flexible Rube Goldberg contraption that was difficult and frustrating to use. My choice of an 8' base pole instead of the 6' just made it all the harder to use with whipping, flexing and overall weight and unwieldiness. I really don't think I will ever use more than 2 of these extensions (20' max with 8' base pole) at a time with the saw attachment and only one with the cutter attachment (14' max) as the latter's weight just compounds the problems. It is nice that one pole is shorter as you can reduce the whipping somewhat by substituting it for a 6' as long as it provides adequate reach.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the Job I use this pole set to extend the reach of a pruning saw. Works well. Poles are sturdy, lightweight, and well made. No complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Only Way To Go I wish I had bought this sooner rather than messing around with the garden variety pruning pole. I was able to cut Sitka Spruce branches as big as 8" diameter at a height of 22' with this pole system. using all sections connected, although a bit unwieldy due to the length, it was solid and easy to use once on the branch. This is a well made pole assembly and would definitely recommend it as it is well worth the money. You can get the Jameson pole head and blades at several different places. Thanks to the pros who turned me on to the Jameson products in other reviews.
