Only computerized models can offer 1-step buttonholes. Like all mechanical machines, the Toile Romance features a typical 4-step buttonhole.

The Lovely Lilac is our most basic, entry-level mechanical model. It can be manually left in a needle down position, but does not have a computerized key for this purpose.
Some machines are made to always stop needle up. If so, stop sewing & turn it wheel by hand. Be sure to hand turn in correct direction.

The Lovely Lilac is our most basic, entry-level machine. We do not recommend sewing awning canvas with this model.

After threading machine, needle thread won't pick up bobbin thread. Why?
1 not threaded correctly 2 bobbin inserted backward 3 timing is off (highly unlikely, unless someone who didn't know what they were doing, worked on it)
It could be two things. First, your bobbin might not be installed correctly. Check the manual, you might need to pull up the tail manually on a fresh bobbin.
