A:  No, it is a very uniform finish, with some only slight variations in texture, hardly noticeable when installed.

A:  They look like subway tile. I think it looks natural installed in my kitchen. Like all subway tile of this style they have a bit of a gloss finish, but it doesn’t make them look plastic like. I have included a couple of pics so you can see for yourself.

A:  This tile is best with pencil-line thin grout lines and that really calls for non-sanded grout. Sanded grount will not apply well to 1/16" grout lines, and trying to get it in there will likely scratch the gloss of this tile. I have used this tile with sanded grout with 1/8" grout line and it is holding up well but it's a little weird looking, more of a brick impression than a tile. Short answer -

A:  Un-sanded grout is suggested for grout lines less than 1/8" thick. Sanded grout can be used, but working it in to the narrow joints will be difficult and likely result in pinholes.

A:  No, not for that fine of a grout line. Sand is just a filler for lowering the cost by taking up space which reduces the amount of cement which is costlier than sand. Sanded works fine in wider grout lines and actually makes it more durable allowing greater wear and flexibility (compare to cement sidewalks which are smoorh but prone to cracking vs concrete (which has small pebbles in it). With the 1/16 grout line wear and flexibility is not a worry and you actually want as much adhesion from the small amount of grout in the space between tiles. I hope this helps

A:  Absolutely not. You can use a snap cutter but that type of cut doesn't usually look good. A wet saw is required, IMHO. Home depot rents them.

A:  I would not. I would either get a tile saw or an angle grinder with the proper wheel.

A:  You would be well advised to use a tile saw. The blade on a tile saw is made for cutting ceramic smoothly and you don't want to cut a 3"x6" piece of anything with a portable circular saw (unless you don't value your fingers).

A:  Absolutely not. You need a tile saw, a wet saw with diamond blade.

A:  No. If you want a clean cut you need a wet saw. If you need just a cut or two and you don't mind if it's rough you can use a grinder with a disk that cuts tile.
