Outdoor light would add a totally new dimension to the luster tiles. They grab the light and play with the eye! Go for it!
Use unsanded grout. Sanded will scratch glass
Pencil tiles / edging works great!!
spacers are spacers. shape doesn't really matter.
no need to use penetrating sealer.
you will have to back butter these tiles, to fill that void. Or fill it with grout.
These can be drilled, but don't be surprised if they crack in the process. Drilling into already set glass tiles is a hit or miss proposition. Take your time and make sure a wet drill is used to keep the friction(heat) down which is what will crack the tile.
A top quality modified thinset, or even a glass thinset will be the best. Product should ideally be installed over hardibacker or wonderboard.
