Questions & Answers

Will this product work on my knock out rose tree as well?

Asked by: Blaine
This product can help rose trees, but they are designed to work on plants, not trees, so the improvement may be minimal.

Use with Mulch

Can you sprinkle the fertilizer on top of mulch and water it in? Or should you remove the mulch and sprinkle directly on the soil? Will it work well with a drip line irrigation system or do I need to hand wster after applying?
Asked by: Linda50
It is best to work in the fertilizer around the rose bush. I would also recommend alfalfa - same method working it in ground before mulching. Then deeply water in. Drip watering systems are best but ensuring your roses (which are heavy feeders) are fed and water will ensure success! I use the Dr Earth alfalfa brand. Hope this assists you.

hi- these roses are the most forgiving possible. Depending on ur mulch, I use dyed cedar, I just scuff it up and spread a handfull around the drip edge.( perimeter of the plant) I have 40+ of them and this is what works for me. Good luck, Tom

My knock out roses have a 4 foot spread. Does that mean I need 6 cups of Jobe's plant food per rose? How many cups are in a bag? 16? If so, I could feed 3 roses once? roughly $3 per rose? How often does it need to be applied? Thank you.
Asked by: cherry
The bag says if the spread is more than 3 feet, use two cups. I'm confused, though, because it always tells you to mix the fertilizer with soil?
