Where can I find this Lawn tractor, Can I have it deliver to Edinbug, Texas

Asked by Jesse September 30, 2020

Jesse = { 'WHERE' may I see this Unit? ...deliver to Edinbug, TX?} a) - To find out "IF" your nearby Store might have One "OR" which One within specified miles aways does, simply 'Put-It-In-The-Shopping Cart" after you initially designate that specific, local Store as "MY STORE" before initiating shopping cart procedure. b) - THEN ... there'll be another set of 'DATA' that allows YOU to ask which H.D. store DOES Have It in-stock & within How Many Miles Distance. P. S. = Please Note = E-170 is very same, except w/ 48" Mowing Deck.

I ha e trouble pushing down brake to start mower. I push with all my might but it will not start

Does the brake pedal remain fixed or will it depress to any degree? If the pedal does not move, then it clearly is bound up and you should check if anything (branch, ect) has been jambed underneath. If it does depress, and the key is turned without a start then, then I must ask if your battery is any good.

What exactly do they mean by "Hydrostatic"? Does it have some sort of hydraulic assit?

Thank you for contacting The Home Depot website. The Hydrostatic transmission uses fluid rather than belts to transfer power from the engine to wheels.

POSTSCRIPT TO / FOR: 'Liam' - ( Does Rear Bagger come w/ a Bagger Kit?} a) - Apologies! - OBVIOUSLY, should NOT have typed (separate engine) at all ... it DOES have a separate 'BLOWER" which uses another 'V' Belt from one of those Three Spindles .... NOT a different Engine! b) - ALL 'Parts' necessary to complete the Installation ARE included with ATTACHMENT KIT.

Who makes the motor on this model

Asked by Susan June 1, 2020

Answers

The prime mover for the E180 is a four-stroke-cycle, air-cooled, internal combustion engine--the Deere-branded, B&S-mfd, Vee-twin--and not a motor which is powered by electricity or mechanically. Many riding mowers incorporate an hydraulic motor powered off engine PTO to drive the rear drive wheels for fwd & rev ground motion--misnamed hydro-static and transmission, they are actually hydrodynamic!. (For pivot-steered (also, miss-named "zero-turn-radius" riding mowers, two engine & belt driven hydraulic motors drive the two motive wheels independently to steer &or pivot the machine for restrictive edge mowing).

How is this mower on a hilly terrain?

Asked by Liz May 30, 2020

Answers

Thank you for visiting The Home Depot website. It is recommended to never mow or operate ride-on mower on slope angles greater than 13° with the lawn ride-on mower in its basic configuration (without attachments). When using attachments it is recommended to never mow or operate on slope angles over 10°. You can find detailed instructions under "Section 10 - Safety - Operating On Slopes" in the Operator's Manual here: http://manuals.deere.com/omview/OMUC23650_19/?tM=HO.

I was torn between a zero turn and a lawn tractor. I have cut my two and a half acres for years with garden tractors and had luck with them. After a lot of comparing different brands and models. I decided that the E180 John Deere lawn tractor was the one I wanted. Of course after doing my timely research the quantity was dwindling. After checking several locations to find the model sold out. Home Depot came through with two in stock in a store across town. After purchasing the mower online. I found a 10% coupon in the mailbox. The friendly sales staff at the store took very good care of me. The purchase and loading went smoothly. So after three cuttings I'm totally satisfied with a quality product at a good price. Thank you John Deere and Home Depot.

Perfect for an acre or larger! We recently moved and now have a 1 acre lawn for the first time. Read about many other lawn tractors and settled on the E series for the value and John Deere quality. The 54" deck on this E180 really gets the job done! I also wanted the E Series for the attachment options like the carts and sprayer. The mower rides great (my yard is very bumpy) and the seat has a lumbar adjustment. The white glove delivery was EXCELLENT!! The local JD dealer brought it right to my garage door and explained the features to us and provided insider tips for adjustments, etc. I definitely would add the seat cover as nice protection as well as the pockets for water, gloves and other accessories. I highly recommend this tractor!!!! Can't go wrong with a John Deere.

Mower functions as expected. Two problems: first ran out of gas first time because the gas gauge is under the seat and can not be seen while mowing, second gas tank is smaller than my Husqvarna making it necessary to do a fill-up every time I mow.

I have 6 acres of mixed terrain, hills, flat, grass and small brush. Have over 100hrs on my E180 The good- the transmission is the best I have ever used going down a steep grade let off the pedal and it will slow you down no need to use the brake at all. Engagement is smooth and overall it feels great. The tires have very good grip, In have climbed steep wet hills with no slip at all. The engine starts perfectly idles nicely runs clean and not too noisy and pulls very well, lots of power. The blades/deck operate as they should i found the cut was even and clean even at full speed. The look of the machine speaks for itself. The bad- Every single pivot point is metal to metal no bushing aside from a few locations. If you buy it operate the controls note the pivot points and oil them. The manual makes no mention of this. Case in point the deck. raising it was a strain on my wrist and shoulder. After I oiled all of the deck pivot points lift effort was cut by 1/2, now very easy for me but my wife still has trouble. The steering system(tie rods ect) is sealed you cant lube it and the parts are flimsy I have no idea how long it will last but when operating there is a lot of flex on the parts they should have lube points. The quick change system is not a good idea in my case at least. Basically I had to change my oil every 3rd time i cut the grass(change every 20hrs per quick change schedule) how is this OK JD for me and the environment. Anyways its gone I swapped out the entire system. There is a kit to do this check online for the kit, I now use a Quaker state 3600 filter and my oil stays clean much longer. I broke the E-brake first 5 min I owned it. Its flimsy plastic. My fault I was to rough on it and broke it. I didn't know the foot brake had to be fully depressed to engage it and I sheared it right off. Fuel economy is average i go about an hr and 1/2 on a tank(small tank though)) I am 5.9 and the seat makes my back sore after an hr. I have to stop and stretch before continuing. bottom line - An excellent machine for 2 acres or less a good machine up to 5 acres. Beyond 5 acres or if your property is rough Id look at something else. J.D saved money by skimping on things people wont notice when buying just do the extra maintenance to get around that.

hard decision but worth it
The decision i struggled with was should i get this big box entry level mower or go up to the dealer version. I was concerned about quality vs price. Suffice to say, im glad i went with this one. It cuts perfectly, rides great, and is quite quiet. I cust about 2.5 acres so this makes short work of the job with the 54” deck. Getting used to the foot pedel is different since ive always had a shifter on the side. Also the size of the deck vs my old 42 takes some maneuvering. I alreasy mowed down 4 saplings. All in all i love it and happy i got it

Got the E180 54 inch mower this morning. It was completely assembled including bumper. Added gas and started right up. Being a female who used a 42 inch ariens mower prior to the new john deer... it was very simple to figure out and use. What use to take me 5+ hours to cut about 5 acres, took me 3 hrs 15 min with the new mower . Seat is comfy, love the compartment on the side near cup holder. Stored my phone in it without issue so I could check the time. Only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star rating is as follows.. when putting the cruise control on so you dont have to keep your foot on the gas pedal, it slows the max speed down just a bit . I would rather be able to drive in cruise control at max speed rather than a slower speed I'm sure there is some safety reason for this that I'm unaware of. Other than that.. I love it very easy to operate and comfy.

This tractor is is the best that I have owned. Great cuts, smooth operation, put a set of chains on it for our hilly terrain and it is perfect. I will change out the 30 second oil change though don't like that setup. There is a changeover kit out there. Transmission is smooth and feels strong. It is like driving a luxury vehicle.

This is my first garden tractor and I haven't put many hours on it as yet. But some good indicators so far. First is that while sold by Home Depot, John Deere sends one of their technicians to do the assembly. I met the one who assembled mine ... super guy. Loves this tractor. Next thing is so far, it has worked well on my fairly rough property. Big test will be when I try to cut some very thick brush on the property. I'll try to update with the results. Finally, I messed up. I drove over a piece of barbed wire which tangled around the shaft that supports one of the blades. Stopped the tractor in its tracks. I had to remove the entire cutting deck which actually was not too difficult. Took me minutes to cut the wire off and then reassemble the tractor. Ran flawlessly. Smaller units may not have the guts to doi the job. This one will accept some attachments too. So there you have it. I am happy so far.
