Over the years, I have walked my dogs twice a day, rain, or shine. We get some ferocious wind & rain storms here in Northwest Oregon. I have had many rainsuits, that either rip, don't seal out the wind, or become saturated & transfer the wetness to the inside. I'm 5' 10" & 175-lbs., but I ordered an extra large for those above freezing days, when I'll need to wear a coat under the rain jacket. The extra length, of this size, also gives me better coverage down my legs. I used this John Deere Rain Jacket on our first big storm of the Fall season. The cinch cords at the bottom of the coat & around the hood nicely closed off wind driven rain, from getting into the jacket. When walking my dogs, I have to periodically stop to pick up their waste. Even with the cinch cords tightened around my waist, the coat allowed me to freely bend over to do the pick up. The Velcro straps with reflective strips, at the ends of the sleeves, also kept the wind & rain out & didn't release itself, due to my constant arm movements. The hood can be stored away in a zippered pocket, at the top & back of the collar. I have had rain jackets, with small mesh zippers, that easily jamed. The main zipper on the front of this rain jacket has, what I would describe as a large mesh zipper. It makes it easy to start & smoothly zip up the jacket. A 2 1/2" wide flap, with Velcro strips, secured over the zipper & kept the wind & rain out. The two main pockets in front also have zippers, with flap closures & kept my dog treats dry. A zippered pocket inside the left front, just under the John Deere logo, is where I put my cell phone. It also stayed dry. Even after a half hour dog walk, in the rain & wind, the water did not bleed through to the inside of the material & the interior mesh lining along with the ventilation flaps, on the back, kept me cool & dry. This is a great product!

This rain jacket is made from a polyester I’ve never felt before. It almost feels like a thick latex, without the stretch. It doesn’t provide for a “crisp” look – it’s rather wavy/wrinkly. The fabric is not breathable at all, which is typical of a waterproof material, but because of this it’s not a jacket I would wear when there is a “chance” of rain, I’d only put it on when it’s already raining and I need to stay dry. The sizing runs a little big – I’m 6’4”, 200lbs and the size Large is a hair too big on me. The arm length is about right, but it hangs low at the waist and there is a lot of room around the stomach area. That being said, the jacket is good for what it is – an inexpensive rain jacket to be worn when working outside in the rain. It’s not something I’d recommend for a white collar job or social functions.

The John Deere Premium Stretch Rain Jacket is a well-designed and well-made medium weight rain jacket with a mesh interior, zipper and Velcro front closure and functional hood. The jacket has a zippered front pocket and two zippered side pockets. It is designed to cinch up at the waist, hand openings and hood. The back is vented and there are reflectors at the wrists. The only minor complaint I have is that the hood is difficult to zipper closed after rolling it back into the neck, but perhaps this is due to it being new. In short, a terrific design, weight and build-quality.

Very comfortable. Plenty of room for my heavy winter coat under the rain jacket. It has velcro on the sleeves to make it snug at the wrists, but also has elastic so that it is not too snug. It has a zippered inside pocket that you can put your cell phone in to protect it from the rain but still get to the phone easily. The hood can be folded up and zipped in under the collar. Zipper can be made water tight by the velcro closure flap. Zippered hand pockets, but I think the protective flap opens in the opposite direction to be comfortable. It can be machine washed, but not dried (hang to dry).

Love this rain coat!! It is a heavy duty rain coat not some thin flimsy one. There is a flap that goes over the zipper with Velcro on it to cover the zipper. The hood has draw strings so you can pull it snug around your neck. It also rolls up and stores in a zippered compartment behind the neck. The pockets are also covered and zippered. There is also a pocket about chest level on the inside. I live in California and we don’t get much rain. But this past year we got more rain than we had in 8 years witch ended our 8 year drought, I wish I would have had this then. Well now I will be prepared for the next time. Highly recommend this rain coat!!

This is a high quality waterproof jacket! It's a simple design yet it looks great! It feels very durable yet at the same time it is lightweight. The inside has a mesh lining so when you are wearing it, it doesn't make you feel overheated and it feels very comfortable. My husband is 5'10" and we tried the XL so he felt that it was a little longer than he would have liked it, however it covers more of his lower body to stay dry when out in a storm. And he felt going down a size wouldn't have helped because he liked the fit in the armpit/chest area, plus being a little big it gives you room if you need to dress in layers. It has a drawstring on the bottom of the coat. Hand pockets on each side. A nice high collar for extra neck protection and a nice hood with drawstrings and velcro for a snug fit if desired. There is also velcro at the end of the cuffs so you can adjust them to keep your wrists dry and secure. It definitely keeps you very dry in a heavy down pour! Great quality, great rain coat!

The John Deere rain jacket is well suited for serious rain. The polyurethane material sheds water with ease. The mesh lining and slight stretchiness of the outer layer add to the jacket's comfort. This jacket has two side pockets that are zippered and protected by flaps, as is the chest pocket. It also has reflective strips that provide low light safety. This jacket seems really well made, and it should provide ultimate protection in the worst of weather.

I love this jacket, performs extremely well in downpours, as well as not feeling too bulky. I am typically a medium-large in shirts, and this jacket fits me very well, while not being baggy. The hood is well designed, and is long enough to cover past my waist. Water slides right off of the polyurethane material, and has an inner lining to add to insulation and comfort. You will also be well prepared in wind/rain storm mixes with this jacket.

I was dubious about John Deere dabbling in a stretch rain jacket but was I wrong! Its quality is just like all their other JD products. The polyurethane/polyester stretch material does exactly as it states. It fits just as easily over a winter jacket for more dryness as well as all by itself. I'll even throw it on when it's not raining because it does cut the wind. The material is not stiff at all as other slickers I've owned over the years brings to mind. Velcro on the front zipper placket and cuffs do a nice job of keeping water out. The velcro on the edges of the hood doesn't do much - the hood pulls away more often than staying on it. The hood can be zippered out of the way but I just leave it out. The reflective logo on the chest and the strips on the cuffs are helpful when walking my dog at night, especially since it is a black jacket. The two zippered pockets on either side have a reverse opening to help with keeping rain out of them. There is a hidden chest pocket found next to the jacket-long zipper. All the pockets are mesh-lined to help with breathability. I wore this to a night college football game and the hood was phenomenal at keeping rain off my head. Nothing got in my chin/neck area as well as at my wrists. But just as I expected, when sitting down in the stands, the rain ran right off my jacket and onto my thighs. And then the water just started wicking through my jeans. Hence why I may look at getting the matching pants at some point. But the jacket is great and I will get a lot of use out of it for a long time. Just haven't decided if it will hang in my front coat closet for frequent use or kept in its storage bag in my car's trunk for that unexpected downpour.

I picked up this rain jacket for my husband. John Deere is a well-known brand for quality items but he had never had a piece of clothing by them. The fit of the jacket is perfect for his 2x. It fits well over clothing and has a little room to spare. The material is a rubberized polyurethane with a liner that is a mesh style. The outside is waterproof and the inside mesh keeps him cool while he is wearing it. It has a nice, sturdy hidden zipper with a placket that covers it and secures with hook and loop. The attached hood can be zipped away into the collar but he leaves it out generally. The wrist openings are elasticized and have hook and loop tabs so you can secure them looser or tighter. The bottom hem is adjustable with locking pull cords. The hood also has locking pull cords so you can secure it around your face in the rain.
