      Answer This Question

A:  For an 2x4 walls it is recommended to use and R-13 or and R-15. The R-19 is used for 2x6 studs because the 2x6 studs have a greater depth and can hold more insulation.

The north-facing lanai of my house in Florida was always hot in the afternoon. My infra-red gun showed the lanai ceiling was 98 degrees. I checked in the attic and there was no insulation over the lanai. I built a walkway from the hatch on that side of the house back to the attic over the lanai and added some lights. The rolls of insulation would not fit through the hatch, so I cut each roll into five 8' lengths, rolled those pieces into smaller rolls and put two of them into a large garage bag. That made it easier for me to hand up the insulation through the hatch without brushing the insulation me. I added radiant barrier foil to that section of the attic and put down two layers of insulation, one between the trusses and one over top of the first but perpendicular to the first layer. That lowered the lanai's ceiling temperature from 98 degrees to about 88 degrees and made the lanai more comfortable. My only complaint, and why I gave it a 4 rating, was because the rolls did not fluff out to the full 6" thickness. I'll monitor the insulation and if it fully fluffs out, I'll update this review and change the rating to a 5.

Great way to buy insulation for stud walls
This insulation is cut and made especially for stud walls but can be used for any application with 16" on center spacing between the studs. , It has an R-19 resistance insulation value and is faced on one side with kraft paper. If you need to cut it you can easily do so with a razor cutter or box knife . it is very easy to staple into place and easy to handle as it is very light as well .

Good Fiberglass Insulation & Easy To Work With
Bought this to insulate the Shed/Outbuilding roof. Nine (9) Pieces came in the bag compressed. Easy to unpack & get ready for the install. Wore Goggles over my glasses an a long sleeve shirt along with 2 pairs of Grease Monkeys Nitrite Gloves. Friction press into cavities which held the insulation batt in place & gave me the ease of adjustment while stapling into place. The fold down tabs that are placed along each side made for a very quick install. I came away with the feeling of WOW! Buy without hesitation.
