A:  Not sure what you mean by universal toilet. This works on the left side of the tank and I have used this on several brands of toilets.

        A:  Mine mounted on left when facing the tank. Not sure if the spring mechanism in the handle would accommodate installing in right side. Would mean one would lift handle to flush, and not push down as normal. If okay with lifting, it may be possible. If doesn’t work, could return to store probably.

          A:  Don't know those numbers - went to Kohler's web site, plugged each of them in their search engine but nothing returned except for the K 4520 DA and it just returned 4 of their handles. I use the handle with Kohler's Devonshire toilet & Kohler's Memoir toilet. Works well - better than the original handle & looks great. With what Kohler toilet model are you wanting this handle to work?

            This is good product and was easy to install, even with the toilet not having a tank mechanism of a flap with a chain. The quality and style complements the other oil rubbed bronze hardware and door knobs in the bathroom. The previous handle had a plastic arm and connection post (that broke). This new one has a metal arm and post. I only installed it yesterday, but so far so good! The short installation video in the product information was very helpful.

              Home Depot had the perfect item, and I'm thrilled !
              For my bathroom remodel I selected everything pretty easily except for the toilet tank lever. The fixtures I chose are Oil Rubbed Bronze. I searched for months and did find several, but all were either too long, too chunky ,and all were very expensive. Then I stumbled on this when looking for another item on Home Depot's site. It looked lovely and the price was reasonable. I'm so glad I ordered it online because I received an email that it came to the store within 2 days. Totally hassle-free and no shipping charge. This looks absolutely beautiful in my bathroom. It "tops off the tank." Take a look !

              I bought this lever to replace a cheaper lever I purchased about six months ago. A plastic part of that lever broke so the handle did not sit right any longer. This lever is all metal so it's less likely to break and the finish shouldn't wear off from cleaners. I like that it is spring loaded so after you flush, it springs right back into place. This helps to assure that the flapper inside the tank closes properly. The only issue I came across is that this lever sticks out quite a bit. When the lid is up, it rest on this lever rather than the back of the tank. Since the lid stays up on its own I don't see a problem. While this was more than I wanted to spend, I thinks it's worth it if I don't have to replace it for at least a few years.

                For my toilet the chain rod had to be bent...
                For my toilet the chain rod had to be bent to clear the tank side, other than that it was an easy install and a good looking upgrade.
