This 3 way bulb takes another half turn of the light bulb to kick in the 3 way switch.

My only complaint is that the metal seems thin and could be easily deformed by pressure. It was about $65, so I guess that's the quality of metal that $65 delivers today. I like the graceful shape of the shade, and the swing arm works well for in-bed reading.

Nice light with a nice shade that allows for a bright reading light. The cord cover was a little difficult to put together and you definitely need WD 40 on the swing arm hinges. I was happy that the shade arrived in excellent condition.
