Can 2 heaters be wired together to create an 8' baseboard heater?

Asked by Cocoa May 4, 2021
1
Answer

You can wire 2 heaters to a single thermostat as long as the amperage of the thermostat is greater than the amperage of the 2 heaters combined. With 2 of these heaters you will need a thermostat greater than 16.6A. Our K101/K102 or ESP120-R will work for this application, both thermostats are rated 22A.

you can use a 120 volt wall thermostat if you would like. I bought the single pole KING BKT1BW thermostat, and installed it on the right side of the heater. you can use the double pole thermostat also. It will install on ether side of the heater.

can this be mounted higher up on a will to protect small children from the unit?

you can if you wish but i would not recommend it any higher then 6 inches or just above your baseboard. you needs to heat the cold air immediately as it inters the bottom of the heater.

Does it need to be installed under a window or will it work well on an interior wall?

It is in use now. It is hooked to a wall thermostat made for electrical heater and uses 115 volts wired direct, no plug. We have it mounted off the floor in our breezeway entrance. I dont here any noise from the unit when it turns on. It was shipped to Home Depot from another location and wasn't damaged. It did take over an hour to for Home Depot to locate it in their receiving area. I'm am very happy with it. It has been installed now for three weeks. It heats the room rather fast being 48 " long. I do have a concern that it may get hot and i would encourage parents to inspect the heater before installing it, to watch little kids don't get burnt or cut on any metal edges. Otherwise I like the heater. Make sure to use the chart for calculating the correct size unit and power source installed.
