About This Product

Good buy lasts only 4-5 years
I have had two of these and just ordered my third one. Not because they are great, but because they seem to last about 4 years....yes both have dies after 4 years each. They work fine when they work, but the do not last forever. I have mine run off of marine lead acid batteries and it runs my oil boiler, wood boiler and solar hot water pumps. These are all super efficient (low wattage) so the total draw is less than 1000w. It runs finei bypass when the grid is up and swtiches over supper fast to the inverter/battery when the power goes out. It keep the batteries charged fine. I actually for 8 years on my first set of batteries, so it does a great floating them and not ovrcharging. Wish they would last longer. There is no way to do any repairs or even reset/reload firmware. It either works or does not. There is a hard reset, but nothing in the manual tell you to do it (just something tech rep tells you to do). But it has not solved failed units. Might be worth buying extended warrantee on this one. Changing settings takes some work as there is only one button..so lots of holding and pressing....can be madening at first. Manual is a bit cryptic. Great once it is set up and working. But munis 1/2 star for manual and opeartion setting, and minus 1.5 stars for lack of service life.
