I have owned and used a lot of tools, but this was my first Knipex tool purchase. These pliers are the finest quality of anything I have ever used. Every aspect of the tool - design, materials and construction - is perfect. They may cost more than other pliers, but on a value basis, these are the winners. I have found no downside to the clever offset handles. For its size, the gripping power of the pliers is great. The handles end up in the just the right position to get maximum gripping torque. The smooth jaws are useful for not damaging an object while grabbing it. This tool is a piece of functional art, and I will be looking at other Knipex products to purchase.
