Hi Ti, this is Sarah with Kohler Customer Service. I'm glad to answer your question. The following cleaners can be used on your Archer acrylic shower: Clorox Disinfecting Bathroom Cleaner, Fantastik Antibacterial Heavy Duty, Green Works All-Purpose, Green Works Bathroom Cleaner Lysol Bathroom Cleaner, Mr. Clean Disinfecting Bath Cleaner with Febreze Freshness, Tilex Bathroom Cleaner and Super Iron Out Rust Stain Remover. To restore scratched units: Apply white automotive polishing compound with a clean cloth. Rub scratches and dull areas vigorously. Wipe off residue. Follow with a coat of white automotive paste wax. Thank you for choosing KOHLER.

can you drill holes into the threshold of the showerpan to install the dreamline door track

Hello Eric, my name is Kassi with Kohler Co. I'd be happy to answer your question. The shower doors we offer do not require any drilling into the base. I would not recommend to drill holes into the K-9479-G9 base as it can cause cracking and/or leaking to occur. Thank you for choosing KOHLER.

Hi, this is Laura with Kohler Co. I am happy to assist you with your question. An acrylic sheet is warmed and shaped in a mold. A fiberglass and resin mix is applied for strength and then it is rolled to remove air bubbles. Wood reinforcements are placed before another later of fiberglass is added. The completed unit weighs 58 pounds. Installation instructions require mounds of floor-leveling compound be placed at the shower base feet. K-9132 is the recommended shower drain for this receptor. The Choreograph wall collection system is recommended for the walls and any of our glass doors that are compatible with a 60" finished opening are compatible with this receptor. Larger receptors include: Archer K-9395 (60" x 60"), Groove K-9996 (60" x 42"), and Rely K-8659 (60" x 42". Please work with your local The Home Depot for pricing and availability on this product. Thank you for choosing KOHLER.

This is beyond slippery and dangerous. We bought a new home that the builder had installed this pan and it's slick as ice. Even the shower mats with suction cups won't stick to it. We now have safety hand bars install all over the shower walls to keep from slipping when the water, soap and shampoo get added to the slick surface. We are going to have to have the entire cultured marble shower walls removed just to get a pan that is safe. No idea why they sell this product. This an accident waiting to happen.

Hello, my name is Leah with KOHLER Customer Service. I am happy to assist you with your shower door question. I apologize you were unable to find the information you were looking for. I apologize, we do not currently manufacture any standard doors with a return panel. Sterling does offer custom doors, including with return panels, however as they are custom the measurements are taken from your finished installation and finished walls as wall material thickness can vary. Please work with your local Home Depot for pricing and availability on any selected product. Thank you for choosing the Bold Look of KOHLER.

I bought this shower pan for a complete bath reno. I had originally bought a Swan brand, but the drain location was blocked by a floor beam, so I bought this Archer model instead. The pan looks very style-ish, but it has some negative features. First, the profile is very low - no high front edge. Unless your shower doors are installed really low, you will get water on your bath floor. My doors were set the lowest point and water still splashed out. I ended up getting a molding that fit right over the shower door edge. It is white and it looks like part of the shower door. This did the trick. Second like other reviewers mentioned, the pan will squeak in some areas even though it was installed with mortar. I reinforced my wood floor with additional screws, which helped about 50%. I guess it is too thin. I weigh 150lbs., and I am the only one using this shower once a day. Third, the drain cover is a problem. Who knew? I should have read the reviews first. I bought this because I love Kohler products. Two of my baths are almost all outfitted with Kohler fixtures. The drain looks cool, but unless you remove the drain cover after each shower and dry it out with a towel, it will get funky and moldy and full of hair after about a week or so. I started removing the cover recently after each shower, and leaving it off to dry until next use. It is a pain, but it is a solution. We are on city water, not a well. The suction cups that hold the shower cover in place keep breaking off, even if you don’t take it off regularly. I first tried Gorilla glue to reattach the suction cups, but that only lasts a month or two. I then used clear epoxy. So far, so good. Another thing to know. Because this cover seals your drain pipe, the PVC pipe too gets really moldy and black, because it never dries. Drain cleaner is an answer. This drain thing is a maintenance issue. My old shower pan had no problems like this. It was a regular drain. Only drain cleaner was needed once and a while. IMPORTANT: I called Kohler recently about another issue, and I mention this drain problem. The customer service rep said that Kohler has re-designed the shower cover/hood. They put me on the list to receive a new re-designed cover - they are on back-order. So for me, the jury is still out on the drain thing. If they did a good re-design, maybe things will be better. This must be an issue for many people. Sorry for this long review, but better to know all the facts before buying & installing.

Hi Zmon, this is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm sorry to hear you aren't completely satisfied with your Archer shower base. We put a lot of thought into our products so it is disappointing to hear that we didn't meet your expectations. I'd like to start by sharing, this shower base intentionally features a low-threshold design for easy entry and exit. When taking the measurements into consideration during the installation of a showerdoor, you shouldn't run into an issue at the bottom of the door. The bottom track will sit on the threshold and the height at which you mount the showerdoor top track will be based on the height from the base, up. We appreciate you sharing your experience around using the shower drain. We would like to connect with you to learn more so that we can help! Please email our team at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com for additional assistance. It's important to us that you're able to use and enjoy your Kohler shower! -Sarah S. KOHLER Customer Service

Wish I didn't have this pan
We've had this shower pan for 3 years. Glad I looked at other reviews so I can see if improved drain cover is better. But issue is it has to be removed to clean under it so any parts will eventually wear out. It's not as thick as I would have expected so it does flex a bit. Unfortunately this is not something easy to replace. So for now we're stuck with it. I really expected more quality from Kohler as I have a good deal of other Kohler products that are much better

DRAIN
Really, you've made enhancements? Well this base was just installed in my new shower stall a month ago. And if I don't step exactly in the middle of the drain while I'm showering, the entire rectangle of plastic pops up and goes out of place and I have to kick it back into place with my foot. So I'm thinking perhaps the enhancements are not working!

Drain cover is terrible
I have two of these shower pans in my kids’ bathrooms. Within two years of installation, both of the drain covers failed and started flipping over whenever they were stepped on. The suction cups that are supposed to hold them in place break down and when they do, there’s nothing you can do to keep the drain cover in place. The only solution I’ve come up with is to remove the drain cover entirely which my kids say creates an awkward indentation in the middle of the shower but which makes it safer to use and prevents the constant flipping of the cover.

I’ve learned to hate showering
This pan and drain cover are terrible. Our faucet is situated so I basically have to stand in the middle of the shower, which would be fine except the drain cover constantly pops off, causing me to trip almost daily. I’ve even cut my foot twice now because it will not stay put. The pan is also very slippery, so add that to the terrible drain cover and I’m basically about to slip and fall every time I shower. For the record, I’m 33 and in good shape, so it’s upsetting that this is happening. I can’t imagine if this was my parents’ shower pan, or god forbid my grandparents’! Horrible. I want to rip it out and put tile.

I liked the look of it online, we followed manufacturer's instructions to the T, and kept on dealing with squeaking when we walk in the tub... hopefully when the shower doors goes up it will be subdued... Maybe we should have done a mortar bed under instead of following the instructions... disappointed
