Gorgeous! Use As Bar Sink!
As you'll see by the pics, the product comes in two separate boxes, and I have not installed it yet. I have been waiting for the right project to use it, and like another reviewer said, because of the hefty price, I cannot afford to buy more to have consistency in all bathrooms (hence my reason for the downgrade in Value). I was waiting for a half-bath use, but I don't seem to work on many houses with those, so I think I've come up with another solution that's a little outside the box. I am planning on installing it as a bar sink. The spout is high enough (6" from the base), and extends far enough out (also 6" from the stem) that it will end up being as tall or taller than some of the cheaper bar faucets! Of course I will want to use the pop up drain that comes with it; especially since it has that really classy concealed pull up rod. (again see pics--sorry some are a bit blurry from trying to hold camera with one hand!) Bare in mind, that the pull up has to be turned just the right way to sit flush (see 3rd/last pic for opposite result), but how often does one use that function anyway! Regular bar sinks have larger drain holes that won't allow for a drain pop-up mechanism (like kitchen sinks). Therefore I have decided to install an undermount bath sink to be used as the bar sink. Haven't decided on stainless or white--most likely stainless. I think it will really make the wet bar a show piece in the basement. Once I get it all installed, I will try to come back with pics of result! I do wish it was offered in some kind of oil rubbed bronze & maybe even satin nickel.

Wow What a Nice Faucet!
This is one very hefty & solidly built Faucet! The Chrome is so nice & polished & my wife loves it! We got this to go into a Vanity we also got from Home Depot. It installed quickly & have very good directions on how to set it up & install. Installation took about 45 minutes to hook everything up & test. The flow from the faucet is very nice without to much splash up. It also has fared very well with the high mineral content in our water, It wipes clean without having to use any spray cleaners.

Lovely, quality faucet
The faucet and handles are packaged in two separate boxes and directions are also separate, but the overall install is very simple. Other items needed are non-staining plumbers putty, correct length water lines and sealant tape [optional]. I, personally, can't seem to master the stopper rod part of faucet installs, but otherwise the instructions are good. Amateur tip: it's best to do faucet installs with basin off the pedestal/vanity. I don't think this faucet was necessarily designed with smaller pedestal sinks in mind. The water hook-ups are long and you can see them when you sit down on the toilet. The only other fault I find with this item is that it's a bit pricey. Otherwise, I like the oversized design on my Kohler Veer pedestal sink. The water pressure is good but not too hard for the small sink. It's a great looking, great quality product and I absolutely adore the antique look.

Very pleased with all my Kohler products
I'm in the process of renovating three newly aquired apartments. They'll be getting new carpet and paint throughout. In addition the kitchens will be updated and the bathrooms will get new vanities, fixtures and toilets. I ordered this for use in a 48 inch vanity I was going to install but that didn't work out so for the moment it's still homeless. Before placing the order I did a web search to see what problems, if any, other people were having with the installation or function of this particular Kohler faucet. Everyone, in general, agrees that this is a high quality faucet from a well respected manufacturer. I have two of their faucets in some other apartments and after over a year in use the tenants are very pleased with them, and they're at a much lower price point. There are less expensive faucets than Kohler products out there but experience has taught me that they don't hold up to tenant abuse. If you've ever installed a faucet you'll find no surprises with this one. If this is your first faucet, simply read and follow the instructions, it's easy. The instructions are well written and clearly illustrated. The only tools you'll need are a screwdriver, adjustable wrench, some stainless plumber's putty (non-staining), teflon tape and a small bucket. You'll also need two water supply lines (not included). I always use braided stainless steels lines. They cost a little more but I've never had one fail. After removing the old faucet and drain assembly the most important next step is to completely clean the deck surface and drain hole in the sink. Any leftover residue can cause potential leaks. If you're installing a new vanity, mount the faucet and handles to the vanity top before securing the top in place. First install the drain lift pole in the faucet then the faucet and putty plate into the deck. Next, install the hot and cold handles and the all-metal drain assembly and finally connect the water lines. Don't over-tighten anything, usually hand-tight plus a little tweak with a wrench, is enough. If you spot a leak just tighten a little more. If your surfaces were properly cleaned prior to installation you shouldn't have a problem. This is a quality product and I've never had a factory defect. Kohler recommends removing the aerator prior to running the water for the first time. This is a common practice to flush the lines of any manufacturing debris that may have been overlooked. That's it, you're done. Routine cleaning should be done with warm water and a soft cloth. To protect the finish soaps and cleaning chemicals should not be used on this very elegant polished chrome finish.

An Elegant Artisan Designed Faucet
The Artisan designed faucet is beautiful and attractive. Its' Victorian Column Spout and Vintage designed lever handles added a Classic Character look to my bathroom. The craftsmanship of this faucet is superb. On the rear top of the spout is where the drain opener / closer is located. The handles are easy to operator, with little to no effort whatsoever. I installed this faucet at the same time I was installing a brand new Vanity Top / Sink combo. Installation was much easier because I was able to install most of it before setting the Vanity Top onto my Vanity Base. Everything you'll need comes with this faucet except for Stain-Free plumbers putty and plumbers tape. I also decided to replace the plumbing underneath the sink with all new PVC piping that I also purchased from Home Depot. The only tools I used was an adjustable wrench and a phillips screwdriver. You'll also need a rag or two to whip away any excess putty. I was pretty impressed with the drain installation. I had never seen an adjustable pop-up drain plug before and that helped to get the plug just perfect for opening and closing it so that it's stem sat properly onto the faucet's spout. It's water energy efficient with plenty of good water pressure. The Chrome finish cleans and shines up with soap and water. This solid Brass Faucet will last me a lifetime. I do recommend this product if you're looking for a unique, Victorian style design.

Build quality feels solid with a metal construction. Installation was simple and mostly plug n play friendly. One aspect that I had to tinker with was the ecsutcheon for the faucet. Once tightened it would grind when turning the handle. Backing the escuchen off left a gap were water light seep.

Simply Gorgeous Faucet from Kohler
The Kohler name is synonymous with elegance, design, style and substance. This "Artifacts" faucet is a gorgeous example of the brand today. Each piece of this faucet feels substantive and weighty - very high end, very high quality. That quality is also evident in the timeless styling of this faucet...classic without being too stuffy or stuck in one era of design style. The chrome is polished and flawless; each pull on the levers feels smooth. Love this gorgeous faucet!

Very elegant
This is a very elegant faucet! It has a level of sophistication that is higher than what is expected of an everyday faucet, especially in my house. While this may be a bit expensive, you definitely get what you pay for. The chrome finish is beautiful and solid. The craftsmanship is above average and is really brought a step up with the whole Victorian theme. Kohler does a great job with their products and this one is absolutely on the high end. If this is the look you're going for, I don't think you can get much better than this.
