The rubber gasket and brass ring go on the under side of the shower pan, and then are threaded on the chrome drain. Once its tightened the pan will be set in place. The PVC pipe will stick up through, about a quarter of an inch from the top and then a rubber gasket that comes with the drain will be worked onto the PVC pipe thereby creating a seal between the PVC pipe and the chrome drain.

Yes that looks like the one we used on our base
Check the size of your tub drain. It doesn’t fit any regular sized drain. It is 4 inches in diameter.
Hello, this is Sarah with Kohler Customer Service. I'm glad to answer your question. Yes, this shower drain will fit a standard 30" by 60" shower with a 2" metal or plastic pipe connection. Thank you for choosing Kohler.
It slides over 2” pipe and uses a pressure fit rubber seal that prevents leaks
This here one is the most beautiful drain that I got two hole inches of compression that fit perfect
It's about 3" but is designed just to hold the washer and nut...not to screw into a drain shoe.
