As much as this has a lovely design without the price... The sizes given are incorrect of the SPEC sheet. 12' is correct but only on the lower part of the water tank. It is 13' if you keep the visible part of the water tank in mind. MEANING: The top is about 3 inches from the wall! NOT OK! We have just done a small bathroom remodel, lots of work! I am going to have to remove the Cimarron toilet as it looks just plain DUMB! On the Kohler Spec Sheet you can't see this. BUYER BEWARE! After my call to Kohler they may? update the official spec sheet. I am beyond disappointed and my back hurts to even think of bringing it back down 2 flights of stairs. (I can't speak of the quality)

Hi SAN, this is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm very sorry to hear you aren't happy with the size of your Cimarron toilet. The 12" dimension on our current specification sheet is showing the rough in. This is the dimension from the center of the toilet flange to the wall. When installing this toilet in a true 12" rough space, you should have a 1-1/4" gap at the top of the tank and a 2-1/4" gap at the bowl (this dimension is measured from your finished wall). If your toilet is not measuring up as it should, we would like to connect with you to learn more, so that we can help! Please email us directly at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com. Your delight is our top priority! -Sarah S. KOHLER Customer Service

We chose the Kohler Cimarron 1-piece 1.28 GPF Single Flush Elongated Toilet with AquaPiston Flush Technology in White to replace the leaking 2 piece double flush OEM toilet in our master bathroom and we are quite happy with this particular unit. We've had Kohler brand toilets before and we have always had success in owning Kohler. They last forever and they are problem free. Comfort height so it sits nice and high, cleans easily and from our experience, does not accumulate dirty sediment rings inside bowl from hard water. Efficient water management and the slow close toilet seat and cover is a great feature along with the AquaPiston technology. Powerful and quiet and have never had any issues regarding using a plunger due to it's design as some people have encountered. If you are familiar with installing a toilet then it's pretty easy, simple and direct. Would definitely recommend it for it's durability and craftsmanship if you're looking into a high end model. Can't go wrong with Kohler brands.

(What's this)
The Kohler Cimarron 1-piece toilet seems to be a very nice toilet. If you can describe a toilet as elegant, I think the Cimarron fits that description. The one piece design is pleasing to the eye as there is no separation between the bowl and the water holding tank. I took a couple of pictures which I have included to show the stylish look. As far as ease of installation, it is no harder than any standard toilet install and may actually be a bit easier (relatively speaking) as you need not assemble the bowl to the tank. The Cimarron comes with the entire tank components pre-assembled which is also very nice. A toilet installation is not difficult but they are heavy and I would not recommend this as an installation if you have a weak back or a weak stomach..  .. Home Depot does have a nice video of the installation process with a description of the Cimarron toilet. Basically the “nasty” part is removing your old toilet. First make sure your water shut off valve is working. Shut the water supply off to the toilet tank. I also think it is a very good idea to know where your main water shut off is to your house just in case the shut off valve at the toilet tank would fail. Shut off the water at the tank. Flush the toilet and remove any excess water from the toilet tank by sponging it out as best that you can. Next take a plunger and plunge the excess water in your bowl to as low a level as you can. After removing as much water as possible, remove the two bolts that attach your toilet to the floor. Next remove the water supply line at your incoming water supply. Keep a few old towels handy for any spillage or dripping. If you have a two piece toilet you can remove the tank to make the assembly a bit lighter for removal ( I did not do this). Next gently rock the toilet side to side to loosen the toilet from the wax ring. At this point a strong back is required. I was able to lift our old toilet of myself, but I would recommend a helper at this point. Lifting straight up, remove the old toilet and place it out of the way. Next comes the really fun part. You are now looking into the bowels (pun intended) of your sewage waste line. I would strongly advise wearing gloves at this time.. Place a rag into the sewage waste line. (don't forget to remove the rag before putting the new toilet in place)This will keep sewer gas from coming up and will also keep stuff that you don’t want to go down the sewage line from falling into it. Using a scraper, carefully remove the old wax and crud from the sewage orifice. Clean this very well. You are now ready to begin prepping your new toilet for installation. Gently lay the new toilet on its side and place the new wax ring (not included) onto the outlet (waste hole). For this part you definitely should have someone assist you. Lift the toilet to an upright position taking care to not disturb the newly installed wax ring. Carry the toilet to its new location and while continuing to keep it upright, gently position the toilet onto the sewage waste line lining up the bolts with the holes on both sides of the toilet. Gently lower the new toilet into position. Once the toilet is in position, you should gently press the toilet in a downward fashion to seat the new wax ring. Now replace the nuts onto each side of the toilet and tighten each side evenly (snug but do not overtighten). At this point you are almost done. Attach a new water supply line (I would suggest a braided SS line) to the incoming water supply and the to the toilet tank. Do not use the old line from the toilet. The supply line is not included. At this point you may turn the water back on. Check for leaks. If there are no leaks at your water supply line or at the tank, let the tank fill. Flush the toilet a couple of times to make sure you don’t have leaks from the wax ring. You would see water seeping from under the toilet. If no leaks, the hard parts are done. Attach the seat and the water tank cover and you are done. In summary, replacing a toilet is not hard, but it does require a strong back and preparation. If you are at all uncomfortable with performing this task, hire a qualified plumber or a reputable handyman. The Cimarron toilet by Kohler is a very nice unit, pricy, but as always you get what you pay for. I like the unit very much so far and would recommend it. It is a low flow, 1.28 GPF, toilet and has a very elegant look with its one piece construction. Hope this review helps. Regards hplc2695.

(What's this)
Installing a new toilet is never fun. Once I removed the old toilet this Kohler Cimarron 1-piece Single Flush Elongated Toilet sat down on the new wax gasket and bolted down easily. As this is a one piece unit there is no hassle with mounting a separate tank. The water was easy to hook up with a new stainless braded hose. I have found this toilet seems to flush completely and so far have not had any problems with having to flush multiple times. The water flow seems to be powerful enough to complete the flush but limits the water usage to 1.28 Gallons Per Flush. This toilet seat sits higher than a standard unit and I feel it is more comfortable sitting position. This seems like a quality product and I am hopeful for many years of service from it. The toilet has a one year factory warranty.

(What's this)
This is our second one-piece toilet and my wife likes the fact that they are easy to clean. While they are more expensive than two-piece toilets with a separate tank they are more sanitary. The cost comes from the more complex molding and manufacturing process. This is a 12 inch offset toilet, which is the most common distance from the center of the trap outlet and the finished wall. But there are a few toilets that have a 10 inch offset and a few with a 14 inch offset. If you have one of those and are replacing it you can still make this toilet work with something called an offset flange but that won't be needed in most applications. I installed one because There was a floor joist at around 11 inches from the wall which would have made this toilet fit tight to the wall if at all like the old toilet. The offset flange worked well to allow this toilet tank to be about an inch from the wall. The things I like most about this toilet in addition to easy cleaning are the low water usage and relatively quiet yet strong flush from the power piston flush valve. I have replaced many flapper valves over the years and it is good to see manufacturers move away from this ancient technology to something that provides a more positive seal for no constant leaks from tank to bowl and a more powerful flush. The appearance of the toilet is quite good in my opinion with clean, simple lines and a modern style that isn't over-the-top modern. Being 6 ft. 2 in. tall, I really appreciate the "comfort height" of the bowl, which is about 2 inches higher than traditional toilets but makes a huge difference. And if you have seniors in the family with mobility issues they will be especially appreciative of the extra height. Installation is easy if you plan properly including checking the offset of the existing toilet as mentioned. I chose to use a composite ring instead of the traditional wax ring since this is a heavy toilet and it is easy to misalign the toilet lifting it over the studs in the floor flange and end up with a non-sealing wax ring. The composite ring I got at the Home Depot eliminated this issue since it allows for multiple attempts to place the toilet on the studs. . (Store SKU #1001220854 ). The factory adjustment of the fill valve did not require adjustment. It was right on the proper water line. The instructions with the toilet are simple and easy to follow. If you have not replaced a toilet before as a DIY project then you should watch a video online to see how it is done. It is actually quite simple if you follow the instructions. Not everyone will want to spring for the extra dollars that a one-piece toilet costs but it is worth considering for the improved sanitation and ease of cleaning but also for the appearance. All in all, this is a very good toilet to consider if you are building or remodeling in my opinion.
