We did not have a strainer installed with this drain and have had very few occasions when we needed to use a Liquid Plumber-type product. Personally, I would have preferred a drain that is more traditional and not a step to fill-type drain as is this product.

I love this Kohler overflow drain. It’s different than most circular overflow drains. This sleek shape makes my new Kohler tub look modern and it also allows for more water to fill up in the tub! Win win!

According to our contractor, the overflow did not fit snugly onto the bathtub. We have been advised to do our best to not allow the water to reach the level where the overflow would be used. Because of this I would not purchase this overflow drain or bathtub again.

Great looking contemporary overflow feature
This Kohler overflow was only a small portion of an entire remodel of our bathroom, due to a New Year's Eve flood, that wasn't completed until March 10. All products we purchased came from Home Depot, and we are so pleased with the new updated bathroom we have. We purchased a Kohler tub, toilet, faucets, and towel accessories. We also purchased from Home Depot a beautiful vessel sink and contemporary water spout for our new granite countertops. All of these items were beautifully illuminated by pendant fixtures that were also purchased from Home Depot. We found new tiles for the floor and wall tiles, pebble liners, medallion tiles, and dome liners for an artistic creation in the bathtub surround all at our local Home Depot! As a retired interior designer, I am so pleased with all of the products Home Depot had to offer. I love the look, the quality, and the price. It almost made our stay away from home for 10 weeks bearable.

sealant and sealant
It will be even great if the installation package includes silicon sealant. My conctractor did not use sealant to the gasket rubber (:-<). After a month (yes, more than a month) the ceiling below the tub started seeing wet spot and eventually water leaking. You know what's happened next to your ceiling. Just a friendly suggestion and reminder.

Good overall product.
My wife wanted a deep soaking tub and this one has worked out well. Installation was easy, after securing the feet with construction adhesive I added support with insulation foam while the tub was filled with water as my plumber recommended. The tub feels to be securely installed but if I were to do again I would use a mortar bed. The modern look was a great update for our bathroom. The flange worked well for tiling, and we managed to motor and tile the tub surround to the ceiling without scratching the tub so it appears to be quite durable.

Contractor installed and after a few uses noticed the overflow was leaking. It’s been “re-installed” 3 times. Hopefully the 3rd time is charm and leaking stopped.

Works great for the model tub I purchased. I don't believe that this should cost as much as it does though. Very overpriced, but I didn't have a choice since the tub I purchased for over $1,000 required it.
