    Q:How do I get the handle to be straight down when off? I tried changing the square thing on the stem but I could never get the top of it level.

The stem is to be leveled when you place the square stem onto the stem of the valve, before tightening the adapter with the screw.         Q:bought 90+d ago. since then there have been overwhelming negative reviews indicating faulty product but also water leakage and damage to bathrooms. Have not installed yet, I’m wary. Unable to exchange/return. Any solutions to avoid damage to my bathroom?

        A:  You should try return it anyway and explain the issue to the returns folks. When I had leakage and damage Kohler’s customer support refused to acknowledge there was a problem and just sent me a new spigot which also leaked.

            Don’t buy, tub spout leaks like crazy
            Purchased for my remodeled bathroom. Aesthetically this is a very nice product unfortunately after just a few months, the tub spout is leaking like crazy. I tried replacing the cartridge and cleaning out the tub spout diverter but no luck. Spent a lot of money trying to repair. When the other reviewers say that this is due to the products poor design and should be recalled, I agree. I’m hoping Kohler can assist and give me a replacement or a alternative product matching the same color / design

                Unfortunately, I’m one of the unlucky people who purchased this awful design. It leaks at the faucet and pours water from the base. If not sealed, this will leak water behind the wall and cause damage to the home. Very disappointed in this product.

                Hi Mikemai, this is Sarah with Kohler Co. I am sorry to hear your Cursiva bath and shower faucet is leaking at the spout. To ensure the spout seals properly to the wall, we recommend measuring the pipe beneath the spout. It should extend between 5"-5-1/4" out from the finished wall. The pipe should be 1/2" ID [inside diameter] and 5/8" OD [outside diameter]. The piping coming from the bottom port of the valve body down to the spout must be copper.                   Leaky Faucet
                  Installed this in our new build and noticed the faucet started leaking from the back hole. Unfortunately also found water inside of the wall. We bought this in a rush over a year ago, since our plumber needed parts of it for the rough in. Would not recommend!!

                    Leaked, caused damage, defective
                    45 days after it was installed, this product started leaking out the back of the diverter spigot when showering, damaging our new tile floor, new drywall and paint, and leaking into the bathroom below. The design or execution of this spigot is *clearly* defective, and our plumber agrees. Who will pay for the damage?

                      leaky faucet
                      Just had this installed and already having issues. Shower and faucet both leak water while the other is in use.

                        Tub spout leaks from behind fitting, second time
                        Installed to the exact specification (5 1/8” off the wall using 1/2” copper) and it was pouring water out inside the faucet housing. Brought back to the store and they replaced and it does the exact same thing. Even installed an extra length of pipe to see if it was too short and it still dumps water towards the wall.

                          Poorly Designed Product
                          I usually use Moen and should have stuck with what works best, but I found this kholer cursiva at a great price, had the look I was looking for. I should have read the reviews because not even a day after the install the faucet started trickling every 10-15 minutes. Not a drip but trickle. Plumber warned me that he has seen a lot of problems with kholer because the valve has plastic parts. And yes we have the proper piping, spout piping is just like it says in the instructions. Do not buy!

                            Leaky Faucet…do not buy this
                            I had this installed as part of my shower remodel and lo and behold it started leaking within the first month. Just a little at first and now a fill blown trickle. We’re loosing approximately 3+ gallons per day. This was extremely disappointing. Do not waste your time with this product.
