Is the location of the shower head and mixer faucet fixed on the left hand side or could it be mounted against the back wall of the unit?
Asked by: Sunshine
Hello, my name is Sarah with Kohler Co. I'm glad to answer your question. The faucet is most traditionally installed on either end of the shower. Installing it on the back wall could result in water leaking during the shower use. Thank you for choosing KOHLER.

Does the glass have a coating to keep it "spotless"? I saw the term "crystal clear" describing other Kohler shower doors, but not this one.

Asked by: Sandy
The book that came with it stated that it did have the coating. I have been using mine for several months now and it is still spotless. However, I wipe it down after each use. I don't think any coating will keep these clear doors "spot free."

Customer Reviews

Fluence 30-1/4 in. x 65-1/2 in. Semi-Frameless Pivot Shower Door in Bright Silver with Clear Glass is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect, trendy shower door We did a really nice shower, with a seat and the Delta Victorian showerhead, so we wanted to show it off. This door REALLY is nice quality, and I chose the clear glass to show it off. It makes the bathroom feel much roomier than a pebbled glass door does. Yes, it's hard to get the door spotless, but I just rub it down with my towel after I am done drying off and that works relatively well. There is a frame on the sides and the bottom, it's the top that does not have the frame. But that's what makes it look even nicer... it's excellent quality and it seals great, nice handle, etc... just perfect! I'm very pleased with it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not 100% happy. More like 60% The door is great looking, but there are serious issues with some of the installation instructions as well as some of the parts supplied. Specifically, the screws supplied that are used to adjust door width and straightness have a tiny hex head that is easily stripped when using the supplied allen wrench. The allen wrench itself is tiny, and was extremely difficult to manipulate with my big hands. In order to get the door adjusted properly, I had to tighten and loosen these hex-head screws several times and I ended up stripping five of them. I was forced to take the door assembly almost completely apart and drill out the stripped screws, then go to the hardware store and purchase stainless phillips head screws instead. If I were to install another one of these doors, I would just go ahead and replace the screws up front and save myself an hour or two of difficulty. The instructions neglect to mention that there are a couple of crucial steps that require two people. The glass panel itself is heavy, and not easily adjusted by one person. And some of the instructions are somewhat difficult to follow, even for a college-educated, experienced do-it-yourselfer like me. Hopefully, this review will help others who purchase such products to avoid the difficulties I encountered. As I said, the door looks and works great. Getting there was not easy, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would buy again Did a lot of research before buying. Great value. Nice modern look. The only downside-- reconsider if you dont like to clean. Not just for this product but for the plain glass look. We keep a squeegie in the shower to keep soap spots off the glass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good selection for narrow opening Installation of the door was simple and easily accomplished by the average do-it-yourselfer. Only minor complaints I have is the metal parts were not de-burred after being cut buy the chop saw and the hex key wrenches supplied were soft and rounded over extremely fast requiring me to use my own. If the average person does not have wrenches on hand this could pose as a major setback. I read the instructions completely before starting and then just followed them with no problems other than mentioned previously.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy way to update an old shower We bought this as a replacement to our 13 year old shower door. The door was easy to install and the clear glass provides an updated look to our shower and bathroom. The door is held securely shut by 2 plastic roller latches (pictured), so the door won't pop open if you accidentally bump the door while in the shower. The frameless design makes it easy to get in and out of the shower without bumping your head, which is another reason why we went with this door instead of one they sell stock in the store. The only mistake we made is ordering the wrong size door, as the online description provides a range for which the door will fit, but the range is not product specific; it is a range for all the doors offered of the same kind. We were easily able to return the door to the store and have the store order the correct size. The only reason we are giving the door 4 stars, is that although the roller latches seem sturdy, it is unclear how well they will hold up over time. Even though it is a bit odd appearance wise, it doesn't really subtract from the over look of the door itself. We are not sure why a strong magnet wasn't used instead, but the door does stay tightly shut.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flawless Modern Looking Door I had recently remodeling my bathroom by building a standup shower stall with a seat using ceramic tiles. It had come out amazingly better than I had expected. I was in the market for a glass swing open shower door at that point. I thought about one with pebbled glass because it was significantly cheaper than this Kohler, but I must tell you it was definitely worth the extra money. The crystal glass allows a gorgeous view of the hard work I had put into building my shower for all users of that bathroom. The brushed nickel finish matched my shower heads perfectly. Install was straight forward and fairly simple (just time consuming because drilling through tile is a long process). I couldn't be happier with the door I purchased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sleek with some hurdles on installation I bought this online from Home Depot for around $250. Ironically, the local store told me they don't know installers they could refer me to, since the store sells another brand, and I couldn't find a handyman easily, so I was on my own. I went through the first few steps of installation, and those are pretty straightforward, shoving one piece into another, screwing and marking for holes. You should make sure you get the pivot side and the hinge side correct, or your door will hit your shower handle (you may not get inside). The most difficult part was drilling 8 holes on the wall tile of my bath. This almost took me a month, finding the right drill bit for porecelain tile, and carefully drilling each hole through the wall, without breaking the tile. The wall anchors do not fit into the hole size they recommend, so I had to try a few other types. I finally used a wall plug and different screw than what was given. The way the glass sits on the hinge wall frame is on 4 screws that should be done carefully so it is right the first time, so the door fits snugly with the opposite frame. Adjusting it by uncrewing and screwing back and forth loosens the screw (they don't tell you this in the manual), and holding up the heavy glass to make this right is unweildy. I have a working system, and it looks sleek, but it was a tough job for someone between novice to amateur. I think Kohler can make it more installer friendly, with a few changes to the design. The manual must be more proactive with warnings and better pictures - at least they can have a video or better stuff online, and refer to it from the manual.
